He's been struggling for fitness for years, so the coach has sought to protect him by using him in positions that are not as demanding as his normal position. It was only very recently that he started moving forward regularly, and you could see the outcome against Man U and Brighton.

If you genuinely believe James is playing RCB or midfield because MALO GUSTO has chased him there, omo I dont know what to tell you 😂

They don't play the same role in midfield, Lavia is a 6 and Caicedo is a box-to-box midfielder, Caicedo is only playing as DM because we have none available. The few times Caicedo played with Santos you can see who was sitting and go goes up the pitch winning balls and driving the team forward
