He advocated that people should be able to compete fairly for anything and not be given undue advantage because of skin colour (whether black or white). I agree he was blunt and sometimes insensitive but the guy was learning and growing. He was only 31.

This is someone who believed that the black women who have risen to significant positions in the media, legislature and judiciary as well as the only black first lady all lacked "the brain power" required to have achieved what they did. This is someone who said he would be worried if he discovered that the pilot flying a plane he was in was black. This is someone who said derogatory things about Martin Luther King, even saying that the black-hating black supreme court judge Thomas Clarence is a better example for blacks than Martin Luther King. There are too many more horrible things he said. I cant quote them all. As far as I am concerned though, he was a kid who thought he knew too much. He didnt know enough to talk the way he did about the Civil Rights Movement and the Civil Rights Act.

You see that is where you are wrong. He said four women of the black community, who some of them, including Michelle Obama admitted that she probably got through, -I think Harvard- because she was black. He says that it wrong to elevate people because of their skin colour rather they should be elevated because of their ability and qualification. Which ironically is the most unracist thing to say.

He said MLK as a human being was a bad role model. Bro, go and read what black people, one of whom I think wrote a biography on MLK said about MLK's double standard and how he sexual assaulted women etc.

In Nigeria you all complain of quota system and people being appointed not solely based on qualification but on tribe and you want the standards to be lowered for black people in America.

Secondly, United airlines said they needed to increase the number of black and women pilots to about 50% from about 15% (please fact check me on this) to create diversity. Should pilots be hired based on that?
Charlie corrected someone who made this same accusation that you are making against him and said he did not say black people are unqualified to fly planes but he'd get uncomfortable because he'd be wondering if the black pilot got to the cockpit because he was excellent or because he was black.

Why are we not advocating for this kind of diversity in NBA or NFL? Because it would drop the standard of the sports game when you do that.

He said certain aspects of the civil rights were good and he specially mentioned the fact that it eliminated black and white discrimination - He specially said that - but he also said that the act is being used in a broad way that defies the original intent. Which is allowing men into women's bathroom etc.
