π Genesis 9: 20-27 After the flood that wiped out all flesh_ Noah, his three sons and their wives all resettled to multiply, replenish and fill the earth. Noah began to practice husbandry and one day he over drank his grape produce and became drunk. In his drunkenness, he stripped himself naked in his tent and slept off. Ham saw his father's unclothedness and rather than covering him, irreverently reported it to his brothers- Shem and Japeth. As a result of Ham's mockery, Noah issued a curse on Ham's son Canaan: π And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. β Genesis 9:25 It's widely believed that Noah cursed All of Ham's descendants, this included the black race. This was the basis to justify the African slave trade, and racial discrimination against people of colour over hundreds of years even to this day. However it should be noted that Noah only cursed Canaan, only one of Ham's sons. Not all of Ham's descendants were cursed, only that of his son Canaan's descendants. Biblically, the black race originated from Ham through Cush, Mizrarim and phut. (Genesis 10:6) The black race wasn't cursed by Noah as widely believed. The descendants of Canaan included Sidonians, the Hittites, the jebusites, the Amorites and inhabitants of Sodom and Gommorah. (Genesis10:15-19) Noah's prophecy/curse came true in the days of Joshua as he led the Israelites to conquer possess their lands and enslave them. (Joshua 9:27, 17: 12-13) Having understood this, what is then the problem of the black man and why is he inferior to those of other races? 1. Idolatry and witchcraft: Idolatry and witchcraft are more pronounced in the black race than others and this has really affected the destiny of so many Africans. 2. Bad leadership: Africa is cursed with corrupt, selfish and despotic leaders.

This is one of the wildest Christian belief; that people inherit curses, sins but not the opposite! Same Noah God used to save his people is the same one accused of drunkeness and cursing! Lot too saved himself and his family from sodomy only to embrace drunkeness and incest! David despite his perfection still committed adultery and murder! Elisha caused 42 lads to death for calling him baldhead! |

Na you Noah cursed, not me and my race. Biblical Noah that had nothing to do with Africa or black race, how did he curse you? |

Noah's curse was on Ham's son Canaan... The current geographic location of Israel or to put it more accurately the descendants of Canaan is roughly the Israelis, Lebanese, Palestines, parts of Syria and Jordan. The curse has nothing to do with blacks. Unfortunately, I have seen and heard some popular and renowned pastors share the same view about a black curse on the pulpit. Christians ought to be careful to do more independent readings and study so as not to be fed inaccurate narratives by men of God! |

Black people aren't inferior to white people. It's a lie you must reject. Life started in Africa, not in the middle East, the supposed birth place of Ham. The so-called inferiority and lack of progress in some parts of Africa are due to a lack of access to quality education, which is needed for people to become productive and contribute fully to society's progress. When our people travel overseas to study they often excel, even outperforming their white peers in the same schools. This is clear evidence that we aren't under a curse or inferior. Practices like idolatry and witchcraft aren't exclusive to black people.. White people also engage in them. Involvement in them doesn't make any group of people inferior or unprogressive. The real curse is to believe that as a black person you are under a curse. Once you believe that, it becomes your reality, making you to think, feel and act inferior in the presence of those you consider superior. |

triplechoice:Witchcraft and idolatry are practiced globally, not just in Africa. However, both are more pronounced in Africa, hence the backwardness. |

judewrites:Your claim that these practices cause "backwardness" is purely your opinion. In India, what some of you Christian refer to as Idolatry is a common practice, yet they're currently a leader in space exploration and technology. Moreover, you can't really tell which region practice more witchcraft or Idolatry since in many societies, it's done in private due to stigma.. The perception that it's more common in Africa exists because such practices are culturally visible and integrated, and not done in secret. And it's a misrepresentation to call African religions "Idolatry". The physical objects they keep in their shrines are symbolic representation of what they venerate, not the object of worship itself, something you might miss without deeper understanding. It's your religion that calls it Idolatry. Even the so-called witchcraft you criticise is being practiced by most Christians unconsciously through the use of prayer to impose their will on another person to influence them either for good or bad. |

triplechoice:So you are implying you aren't a Christian? Ok, we are free to choose our beliefs. However, Christians don't impose themselves on another through prayer to God. It's God that touches the heart of people to favour us when we pray to Him. The only way Christians can participate in witchcraft is through cursing others diabolical and not praying to God. |

so are you saying there is no Noah's curse or there is no curse on Black people? |
| Re: Did Noah Curse The Black Race? by Dtruthspeaker: 6:31pm On Jan 04 |
AntiChristian:Only a Muslim will call a person, raped, a rapist. |
| Re: Did Noah Curse The Black Race? by Dtruthspeaker: 6:33pm On Jan 04 |
judewrites:This is not True. Russia, Japan, China and all those Asian countries still practice the same paganism of old while Europe and America are simply practicing it in deep secret |

judewrites:Curses are spiritual things so, they must be done spiritually and therefore, it does not amount to witchcraft. Witchcraft refers to unlawful use of spiritual power eg like a person who can feel that it is his portion not to be rich forcing riches on himself by forcing the spirits to give him by force (rituals) |
