You’ll sign an undertaking at the Airtel office that the ODU is not your property but the property of Airtel and when you don’t subscribe for 2-3 months straight Airtel has the right to come and collect the ODU back from your possession.

You pay N25k for the subscription, not the device. The device remains the property of Airtel.

That's how your current MTN FibreX also works, but nobody ever comes to retrieve the router anyway.

I want to get more insights on this to consider getting the available esim version. When one uses physical sim, which is not the originally registered one, will it be enabled by merely selecting the external Sim option in the router software? Is the physical sim not locked somehow with the software such that only the Airtel agents can enable it?

Does subscribing and using physical sim on the esim version count as "using the router" and hence won't warrant coming to reclaim the hardware by Airtel?

But realistically, it's impossible to be going from one customer's house to another to retrieve their devices because they didn't subscribe for some months, what about the one ones that relocated, or the ones the device got damaged maybe by bad NEPA light, will they ask the person to pay for the damages

Doesn’t retrieving translate to reactivating a number? That doesn’t feel like freeing up space.

This is not true. The only way is to delink it. However, if a line remains dormant for a period of 180days, the system automatically puts it into a pool of numbers to be recycled, this automatically delinks it.

So the Sim spec of the odu .. the Sim is inserted in the one outside .. that means to remove Sim and use with my 4g router wen I am going out with it I have to be climbing up and down everytime I am going out .. if that is the case den... Make I dey manage my 4g router... Airtel network is very bad in my area I used to get 700kbs maximum 1mbps but after I did some inner setting on it... I am getting minimum of 8mbps .. at home and most times 20mbps at work.. I am okay with that, i am still doing the Norma data Sha .. the area data plan ..

there are different service centers depending on your area. If alaba international does not cover your service area then they can’t help you.

They don’t give out the ODU, you go to any Airtel office near you, register and pay, then they’ll assign an installer who will go with his ID and pickup the ODU on your behalf at the regional office of your area and come and install at your place.

I went to the popular(biggest) service center in my area, they vaguely directed me to alaba international or Apapa.

Every1 that are having problems with Airtel network issues, should try this settings

in your internet settings, change your network band to 7... U can also check the bands one after the other to know which one is better, after that go to the settings , you will see 4g settings.. change form 4g lock to Wcdma and press okay

Pls let me know if it works for you because I have helped lot of ppl in my area with the settings and they are enjoying it

I watched your video simply out of curiosity. 'WCDMA Only' means '3G Only'. That's why your speed is poor. 11Mbps is extremely poor, especially when you have an unlimited plan.

Network is horrible in my area too. In fact, I can't get that 11Mbps anywhere within my house. However, after the installer installed the ODU router in a strategic position close to my roof, I am now getting 80+Mbps on 4G.

I have my Airtel ODU now, I tried adding the router number to my Airtel app so that I can do subsequent subscriptions myself, unfortunately it is failing. What can be done?

in your internet settings, change your network band to 7... U can also check the bands one after the other to know which one is better, after that go to the settings , you will see 4g settings.. change form 4g lock to Wcdma and press okay

WCDMA is 3G, LTE is 4G. Kindly take note. Put your band 7 on Lte only and see your speed improve from that poor 11mbps.
