No academic certificate carries the date of convocation.
The date on the certificate is the day the certificate is signed by the VC and Registrar which only can be done on a working day.

Also, note that there are laws the prohibit post dating or back dating any document in the civil service.

Giringory's purported BSc degree which he claims was issued by UNN, has an issued and signed date of 15th December, 1984.

The only problem is that the 15th of December , 1984 fell on a Saturday.

Go and verify.
You can take Peter Obi to court if you found him wanting.
Besides, it was private individuals that took Tinubu certificate to court and not Nigerian government. Be patriotic

You clearly have never been to a convocation. EVERY graduating student’s certificate is prepared before hand and issued on the date of convocation, WITH DATE ISSUED!!!

So they printed and signed all certificates on the day of convocation ?

You make me laugh.

Date of issuance is the date at which the relevant school authority signs your certificate and this is always done on a working day .

The certificates are printed with the assigned date at which the VC and Registrar will sign the certificate and this is not done retroactively with a post dated signage but on a working day .

The date of convocation is a mere ceremonial date.

Or are you going to also say the date of admission begins on the date of matriculation?

Isn't the date of admission set at the date one officially regularised one admission by successfully registering with Student Affairs and the Faculty/Department.

Your argument is weak as Giringori's fake certificate.

As I said, all official documents in public service can not be post dated or backdated. This is a policy that goes back since colonial civil service era and any one caught doing so faces both serious misconduct and criminal prosecution for forgery.

My own certificates do not carry the date of matriculation but the date at which my graduation was approved by the Senate.
