Please can Nlanders suggest to me what I should with this shop on my street that sold me a fake pepsodent toothpaste. The moment I opened it and pushed out the paste, I just knew it. The colours were blurred and paste was watery compared to the original with sharp colours and dry paste. I then settled down to compare it to the original on pepsodent's twitter page, that is when it dawned on me that I was just sold a fake product. I tried using it to brush and it did not foam, does not leave your mouth minty fresh as usual. This is clearly fake.

Can you please suggest what I do with this people. They also operate a drug store where I am sure they sell fake drugs to unsuspecting customers.

the clear example of how to expose fake is to get the original Pepsodent then make a video comparing the both on how it looks from this pics nobody can really tell if it’s fake or original however you can as well report the issues to NAFDAC via their Twitter account or other verified social media platforms but I am not hopeful if anything can be done because I don’t longer believe those people

This is bitterly amazing.

To what ends? The ingredients in the fake could be carcinogenic.

The shop you bought it from probably bought it from a major distributor and should not be blamed for it. Recently, I bought a fake olive oil from a shop. I was shocked to see that the oil contained 95% of water. We are doomed in this country!
This is quite sad.

Bro plenty things are fake, substandard or without nafdac number. Most times it is not the fault of the seller ie the supermarket as they buy wholesale from other markets supplied by importers.
In the last few weeks I have encountered such products. I use sensodine tooth paste, I bought one few weeks ago at blenco AKOWONJO, opened it to use, immediately it entered my mouth I noticed the different taste and smell. Since I spent money buying it an I no wan waste my money, decided to manage, Omo, by the 3rd day I felt my oral hygiene deteriorate. I had to go jendor supermarket, checked closely for nafdac number before buying. On close examination, I saw the difference, one had nafdac number, the other did not, the printing color was off, I called gsk, they asked for the details including pictures which I forwarded to the, till today, I am yet to receive feedback.
Few days ago, my daily HBP medication finished, I normally buy it between 29-34k, so I drove to medplus near me, them no get, I from there called another pharmacy I usually buy from too, they said available at 11k! Howhuh Omo, got in the car and rushed there before they change their mind, the confirmed it was 11k, I asked for 2 (me that had budgeted 30k plus for 1), i started praising tinubu sef that it seems his econs is finally working.
Omo, I got home, took the medicine, after 2-3 days I noticed headache, I checked my BP, it was high! I had to go check that coveram 10/10 medication only to see it had no nafdac number, said to be manufactured in turkey instead of the usual Ireland. I searched online and saw a complaint of the same product with similar batch number reported to be fake in Mexico or so.
Omo had to drive out to Theo pharmercy on AKOWONJO road to buy the one with nafdac number which cost me 38k.
Of course I contacted Servier, the drug manufacturer with pictures of the coveram product for the to confirm it's authenticity, but till now no response.
I have attached pictures of the sensodine and coveram 10/10.
The items on the left are the original while that on the right the dagbo, oluwole ones.

Name and shame the shop

Snap and post the shop here together with the address
Perhaps, the seller didn't know he bought a fake product. It will be better to bring his attention to that calmly.

Just go to another pharmacy and purchase an original one. Why open a thread over toothpaste and people have time to even respond? Pure waste of everyone's time.

Did you check the expiry date? It could have expired.

Whatever the case may be, take pictures of it and approach the shop where you bought it to lodge a complaint. I expect them to replace it or ask you to add more money to buy a more superior toothpaste that is more expensive than Pepsodent.

If they refuse to address it, then report officially to NAFDAC. Keep your receipt and or record the conversation when you get to the shop to make your complaint.

Call or mail Pepsodent
They should handle it from there. Contact Nafdac too.

Go back to that shop and let them know that their product is fake.
If they doubt u, of course you can report them.
But make sure you let them know.
That was how I bought fake anti malaria medicine and I test it with a code and result was fake and I took it back to them and they refunded my money.

Bro EXACTLY MY SAME EXPERIENCE.. FAKE PEPSODENT paste.

Just few weeks back bought Pepsodent from a another store around my area (not wherey usual store due to proximity). The colour, taste and carton was totally different from the original just you stated.

Fortunately an original paste was still left at my 2nd bathroom that's how I compared both and found out.

I took the fake paste to the store I bought it and told the lady about this, then walked away. Such a shame!
