Terrible is an understatement. Someone will close his eyes and sell poison to a fellow patriot.

What actually made it fake, trying to figure it out.
already narrated it in my write up. The original has sharp distinct colours when being pushed out(green, blue, white). Original paste is dry and not slurpy, foams well and keeps your mouth minty fresh for a long time. These features are sharply lacking in this. There are also features on the body like FDIC mark of quality lacking on this one.

Bro plenty things are fake, substandard or without nafdac number. Most times it is not the fault of the seller ie the supermarket as they buy wholesale from other markets supplied by importers.
In the last few weeks I have encountered such products. I use sensodine tooth paste, I bought one few weeks ago at blenco AKOWONJO, opened it to use, immediately it entered my mouth I noticed the different taste and smell. Since I spent money buying it an I no wan waste my money, decided to manage, Omo, by the 3rd day I felt my oral hygiene deteriorate. I had to go jendor supermarket, checked closely for nafdac number before buying. On close examination, I saw the difference, one had nafdac number, the other did not, the printing color was off, I called gsk, they asked for the details including pictures which I forwarded to the, till today, I am yet to receive feedback.
Few days ago, my daily HBP medication finished, I normally buy it between 29-34k, so I drove to medplus near me, them no get, I from there called another pharmacy I usually buy from too, they said available at 11k! Howhuh Omo, got in the car and rushed there before they change their mind, the confirmed it was 11k, I asked for 2 (me that had budgeted 30k plus for 1), i started praising tinubu sef that it seems his econs is finally working.
Omo, I got home, took the medicine, after 2-3 days I noticed headache, I checked my BP, it was high! I had to go check that coveram 10/10 medication only to see it had no nafdac number, said to be manufactured in turkey instead of the usual Ireland. I searched online and saw a complaint of the same product with similar batch number reported to be fake in Mexico or so.
Omo had to drive out to Theo pharmercy on AKOWONJO road to buy the one with nafdac number which cost me 38k.
Of course I contacted Servier, the drug manufacturer with pictures of the coveram product for the to confirm it's authenticity, but till now no response.
I have attached pictures of the sensodine and coveram 10/10.
The items on the left are the original while that on the right the dagbo, oluwole ones.
this is exactly the point. It is dangerous to take even a fake drug. It can kill fast. If you decide to get to the root of the matter now, some people will see you as a joy killer who doesn't want others to prosper. What do we even call prosperity in this country?

Just go to another pharmacy and purchase an original one. Why open a thread over toothpaste and people have time to even respond? Pure waste of everyone's time.
not a waste of time sir/ma. These things need to be called out to help the unsuspecting consumers out there. Fake consumables are every deadly.

For all the people commenting that the product might be expired, or how OP knows it fake product please think. What's OP's motive for opening this important thread?

I read one comment asking why OP opened this thread. It's a shame that when a customer raises awareness about an issue such as this one, it's as if the customer is to blame for the issue.

Please everyone try to understand that most of the fake, expired or substandard products that are in our market space is a health disaster waiting to happen for the Nigerian consumers.

God to the dialysis centers around Nigeria and enquire from the patients how their predicament started.

Anyone that encounters fake or substandard products and raises awareness is a patriotic citizen Our Great country Nigeria.
God will continue to bless you. I am even trying to help all of us here.

The one you bought is not fake but the cheaper brand with less quality.

They too may have been deceived, so I suggest you go back and complain politely. Their reaction will tell if they sell it knowingly or not. They should be surprised, apologetic and even offer to refund if they are not doing it is a business, but if they do strong head, please take it to the nearest nafdac office to save the lives of others too. If there is no nearber nafdac, check if they have presence on Twitter or other social media platforms and raise the issue. This is serious. Do this part even if the shop is innocent.

Please can Nlanders suggest to me what I should with this shop on my street that sold me a fake pepsodent toothpaste. The moment I opened it and pushed out the paste, I just knew it. The colours were blurred and paste was watery compared to the original with sharp colours and dry paste. I then settled down to compare it to the original on pepsodent's twitter page, that is when it dawned on me that I was just sold a fake product. I tried using it to brush and it did not foam, does not leave your mouth minty fresh as usual. This is clearly fake.

Can you please suggest what I do with this people. They also operate a drug store where I am sure they sell fake drugs to unsuspecting customers.

Mods please quickly push this to front page so I know what to do with this people on time.

Don't be daft. What then is more important than stuffs you allow into your mouth? Even something as cheap sachet water.

Name and shame the shop

Snap and post the shop here together with the address
What if the shop owner had bought the product in the hope that he/she is buying original product without knowing that it is fake.
The shop owner may not have even used that brand of toothpaste to know the original from the fake.

If not from the usage or very close scrutiny, this buyer may not have known that the product is fake.
The shop owner is not the producer.

If the buyer is worried much about this product, he/she can quietly go back to the shop and tell them to be careful of where they source their stock from citing to them that the paste purchased from their shop is fake which can destroy the reputation of their shop/business.

It's why I use only sensodyne multi action. Tasteless and smooth. Feels like I visit the dentist every morning, all day freshness. Not all these toothpastes that leave your breath feeling funny after a while and can easily be faked
