A National Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission, May Agbamuche-Mbu, will take over as the Acting Chairman of the Commission.

This followed the formal handover of duties by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who is proceeding on a terminal leave.
The announcement was made on Tuesday at the INEC headquarters in Abuja during a stakeholders’ meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu has handed over leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to May Agbamuche, who now serves as the Acting National Chairman of the commission.

Agbamuche, recognised as the oldest serving National Commissioner in the electoral body, assumed the role following Yakubu’s handover on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Professor Mahmood urged commissioners and directors of the commission to extend their full support to Agbamuche until a substantive chairman is appointed.

I still don't understand how they keep insulting the outgoing Chairman, yet keep trumpeting that they won Lagos in same election conducted by same Chairman.

In case you don't know, one of the architects of manipulation in the 2023 presidential election, El Rufai has openly and shamelessly come out to confess that Peter Obi, yes the man you all dreaded so very much actually won the election. Like we all know, your Tinubu came a distant 3rd position after Atiku. The man who sat on the affairs of every thing and allowed Tinubu to rig the election has already gone into oblivion.
