The hatred is just too much
Re: Oba Of Lagos Bans Igbo Appropriation Of Yoruba Culture Event by U09ce:
This Igbo vs Yoruba rivalry sha. I hope it won't cause issues in 2027. Igbos should acknowledge that they are not indigenous to Lagos and they should respect the institutions there. The Yoruba should know that Lagos doesn't belong wholly to them. People from all over the country and beyond have labored to make Lagos what it is. The city enjoyed the privilege of being the federal capital for many decades, without which its development would have been far below its current state. Igbos have invested trillions in Lagos economy so they should be appreciated, while they themselves acknowledge the positive atmosphere their hosts enabled to make their investments viable. Shikenan

Nice one from Oba of Lagos. Say no to culture vulture.
Njoku should go and promote her father's culture in her region.
Sadly, when this evil of division being crowned aggressively in Nigeria by the political class begins to rule, the Oba will not be alive.

And some of these NL clowns supporting it may not escape the calamity of it all. Yall keep on.

As Igbo I think all these Igbos are becoming busy bodies. Do the business that carry you come lagos, go home and sleep, if you want to promote culture go back to Igboland and do it to the fullest before you come back to lagos. Everyone want to maintain him level for lagos, you stii dey find trouble, you still dey carry your nonsense dey waka up and down like efulefu. Lagos is for Yoruba culture, you are only allowed to do business there

Racoon:
Well, nothing should concern Igbos with such events because of our wide cultural dicotomy. However, there are some points where we intersect or go apart. Some words are used colloquially to pass a message e.g Omo nna or Okoro as Yorubas often called the Igbos is not new. Same with owambe.

This will now widen the gulf some more. Handshake across the Niger should not go beyond an handshake please. The country ought to be united but alas, unity means a lot to many of us. However let the gulf continue to widen. Let see where it leads to.
The custodian of Yoruba culture should wait for cultureless individual to fake their culture for them because you just want money, right?
You want Yorubas to wait as you project the fake version of their culture to the world via social media? Oba has done well to take steps on time. If you want to promote culture, look for your own and Crete fake out of it if Ezes allow you. Yorubas has preserved their culture for centuries and have been turned to global brand. Hiding under unity to now project fake culture products to misrepresent it is injurious. Wear your eze agu and turn igbanko to what you like

If someone leaves hiis own culture and starts promoting another man's culture, doesn't that make the person foolish?

Some people don't read the room. As an Igbo man, stay off Yoruba culture. The only business you have with them is to do business with them.
This should be challenged in court. It’s illegal. Lagos is a cosmopolitan state. But beyond that, If a traditional ruler wants to stop something like this, they should learn to submit their request to the state assembly like everyone else. We’re helping to encourage illegality by being submissive to people who arrogate power to themselves

Do people really worry about other people practicing their culture?

Like as an idoma man, I'll be worried if I see an igbo man practicing idoma culture?

The Sanwo-Olu administration will always be remembered for the ethnic division he caused in Lagos.

Now we also have a 3rd class Oba talking about cultural misrepresentations.

It’s a really a sad time in history and I hope it is being documented by historians.

Never a time in the history of Lagos state as the Lagos state government pioneered hate and division among ethnic tribes.
Remember as such from you people victim mentality perspective.

You did the same thing to Abode before he became your hero because he had a fall out with Tinubu.

You people are very emotional

Hatred is to stop you from bastardizing their culture and project fake one out, right?Of you don't have culture, must you spoil those that have and preserve their own? Why can't they use Eze agu and create fakeness out of any Igbo culture in the name of money? Everything is not hatred, wake up and always know your boundaries

Yes truly you need to go back to anambra because how can u say a state with 20 LGAs don't have a pipe born hole water maybe you are living in the bush side of Lagos though.

God back ohaji egbenma in imo state and start life and leave Lagos alone bikonu 🙏
Why saying he should go back to his state in Imo.

Are you more Lagosian than him? Note that many of you came to appropriate the political heritage of Lagos in the name of Oduduwa. You are not original Lagos protegy. You have Lagos identity complex phobia from one of the fringe Yoruba states. So, you don't have higher Lagos status than others.

Go back to your state and develop it than causing nuisance in Lagos.

The way they play their VICTIM CARD should be a PhD thesis for a serious sociology Ph.d student.

They will provoke, and when the person they provoke react appropriately, they will immediately switch song to "THEY HATE US"..."THEY ARE JEALOUS OF US"..."THEY ARR MAGINALIZING US"

The same you people that will claim you are greater than any other person will be crying marginalization under the same people you are greater and better than, what an Irony!

Hello, Ambode was not even close. Ambode is a saint where Sanwo-Olu stands.

Ambode was conservative with his goals even though it affected minorities. Sanwo-Olu is spelling it out boldly.

Obi cause wahala for all igbos in Lagos very soon there will be a border or passport to enter Lagos ..

Yes, Obi is right.

Lagos is our common heritage. And we have equal stake in the affairs of the state.

Who don't believe in this could argue with the Marines!
