President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.

President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.

He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.

Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.

President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.

At least for ensuring that the minister resigns, this contrasts with the earlier statement issued by Bayo Onanuga that the matter is in court and that they would wait for the court's verdict before taking action.

Why would the release of his school records cause severe and irreparable damage to him? Even those with 3rd class and pass do not hide their records. Why is he fighting tooth, nail and spending millions for his records not to be released? Why does your god have different certificates?
