GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU SET TO UNVEIL 420 NEW HOME UNITS

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will unveil a newly completed 420 home units at Ajara Badagry on Wednesday, 8th October, 2025.

The commissioning of the new Lagos State Housing Estate Ajara Phase 1 at Badagry, will further increase the stock of model housing units and cater for accommodation needs of over 2000 individuals.

The State Commissioner for Housing, Hon Moruf Akinderu-Fatai disclosed this during a media chat with reporters in his office on Tuesday, stating that the estate consists of 420 home apartments of 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms respectively.

Hon Akinderu-Fatai revealed that the aim is to provide affordable and quality housing inline with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's campaign promise to complete all ongoing housing projects in the State.

He expressed excitement about the project's completion, citing its potential impact on the community's economy.

Hon. Akinderu-Fatai thanked prospective subscribers for their patience and trust in the administration. He also advised interested subscribers who have intention to apply to visit the Estate Department of the Ministry at Block 3, the Secretariat, Alausa and refrain from dealing with swindlers as the Ministry does not engage agents in the sale of any of its housing units.

This is very commendable from the Lagos state government, good governernce in reality . While the social media and unserious governor of abia state is busy claiming good governernce on social media

I like the way the Lagos State government builds blocks of storey buildings. The SE region needs to adopt this model to save land for the future. Nigeria's population is growing at an alarming rate.

The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

People that need it will never get it because of the high down payment and short mortgage plan.

good news….the construction started during the administration of fashola but ambode slowed down the progress but thank it is ready for the benefit of lagosians and also brought development to badagry which is fast developing in infrastructure….eko oni baje.

Sanwo Olu in 6 years has constructed more housing units than all South Eastern Governors since 1999.
