I can say that they absolutely love chunky watermelon slices and veggies, we also made some water available in there. Take off the glass and replace with a net or mesh secured tight to keep predators away. Ensure to change their soil often because they love to make a mess every now and then.

Ok I will consider this. Although they seem comfortable with the glass. They're stuck to the glass most times and it is not air tight

Gave me most of the precautions I needed to take for them to survive where I kept them plus the type of foods they eat, I never had any knowledge of snail farming before now.

Remove the glass air won't go in with the glass on top hence they creep up

Don't waste your time, energy and money rearing this local breed. They won't grow big for marketable size. I've tried it before. Go to a reputable snail farm and buy exotic breeds for rearing.

You can use dogoyaro Leafs extract (missed with water) to disinfect the soil.

The problem is I can't remember the ratio anymore

sandy perfarable because dey do eat soil too. Loamy and clay soil will log alot of water, sandy will take time to dry up and those snail need watering often.

Actually, from my own intensive research, Loam soil is much better. Not even sharp sand or clay BUT loamy soil though one could also go soil-less.

My mum pick up some last 2month and put them in an enclosed unused blocks, she feed them peal of watermelon I was amuse after a month she open them, those snails have grow so big. To be honest snail is a profitable business but has it own risk, if ants attack your snail farm ehn....

what's your location ?if you even look around nairaland, you go see some sellers. Just ensure they are practising farmers, not internet ones.

BUT if you dey Lagos / Ogun state, I fit help you

...but that's MOSTly if you go into it without knowing the TRUTH. Imagine make person make you think say you go get millions within a year vs when you actually know what to expect.

Most times, na so called consultants go use you chop. Me prefer to observe from a distance, while others make their mistakes.

Also you end up with responses which exposes you to more information than you initially came for. I rather spend time going from one forum threads to another, or one website to another, THAN using chatGPT or the likes. BUT that's just me.

Depends on your location. If there is snail farm in your area you can get them at snail market.

You have a point there. But the truth is I figured it takes a lot of time for them to grow, so that kinda discouraged me from expansion.
