This is a comprehensive exposé into the life of the h@ddült !ndustry and olosh0-ism through its transformations over the years in the 70s-80s in New York City.

S2 was the best season of all.... it was grittier, bloody, superbly written, more stakes and raw in the aggressive and violent turn it took into the lives of New York City nightcrawlers.


One of the rare gems of HBO that's criminally underrated or mostly hidden and hardly anyone knows about this project. Reminds you of the HBO of old and their legacy of working on tough and difficult subjects, themes with societal controversy yet holding serious sociocultural weight.

Top top flick. I was entertained from start to finish. The dark comedy on the first two seasons were top notch and off the charts. Superbly written dialogues, grounded characters you could easily bet this was inspired from a real life experience of the time.

Season 3 ended with more darker tones and sad endings for the rest of the characters. But well, the show never promised you happy endings for either of the characters right from the start. It made you know this was seriously realistic and there was no sunny happy endings to gain from this. It took you through the dark paths of the lives lived by its characters, didn't hold back on the realism, no punches pulled.

Most of my favourite characters suffered sorry ends. But with the story and topic discussed you could tell some of it was inevitable. Sad story for most at the end but it was definitely a w!ld r!dë and an enjoyable one and promises you a good time while it lasted.

Lots of g@ybriel scenes which could put you off.....also tons and tons of nudity, brezz, yansh and bushes to last you a lifetime. Full frontals no holds barred visual splendour.

What I love about this, while the h@ddúlt_ entertainment industry is the main focus, including the ash@wó street industry, it didn't lose its focus in the themes and narrative it wanted to talk about.

The TV show was more or less an exposé into the height of that industry in the 70s-80s before it's transformation into what we see or know today.
It wasn't as glamorous as we used to think it was. It was filled with shattered dreams, h@te, violence, disappointment, exploitation, regret, degeneracy, sad brutal ends, the whole full yards of everything negative about life and the industry in general. But even in all these doom and gloom for many of the characters, at least there was a little shining light of hope for a very few characters.

It was a rare Masterpiece. It didn't glorify the industry or the banal acts of its characters, rather it served as a cautionary tale or social commentary and gave a clever and intelligent argument for supporters and opponents of the industry and the negatives it represents in the society. It looked at it from all angles; the viewpoint of the exploitative black p!mp$, the unlucky oloshö$ who had nothing else to do with their sorry lives, the happy and willing customers, the g@ybriel community with the cultural zeitgeist, the normal everyday citizens who just wants sanity restored to their neighborhood, the managers and profiteers of the olosh0 houses, the mob who enables the criminality in the city, the corrupt police department, the government and how the city struggled with containing the beast of an industry New York City bred with systemic inefficiencies. No stone was left unturned— even went as far as addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic prominent in the g@ybriel community as well as how the disease entrenched fear and wind down the olosh0-ism businesses.

I could go on and on about this show and I wouldn't perfectly capture its depth and nuance with even a lengthy review. It's that deep and an intellectual show. Deserves a full dissertation to fully encapsulate the look and feel— what the show was all about.
Top top TV show. HBO don't do hard shït like this no more. Would love them to go back to their hard-line roots.

Kudos to the people involved in bringing this beauty to life.

I believe he launched the forum in 2004. So he's most likely an older guy and people of that generation are resistant to change and current trends. That's one of the reasons why he's ok keeping NL the way it is.

When someone launches a new platform, it won't even be difficult to compete with NL because I don't know why he's still cencoring things and using an anti-spam bot in 2025 with a pointless ban afterwards to boot

I never knew I would be this entertained. One of the fastest rate I've gobbled down a multi-season TV show.

It is darn too good I'm surprised this doesn't even get talked about at all in great HBO classics write-ups. This should be following closely to the likes of them Sopranos, The Wire etc.

Two days ago I got the ban like 6 times that day. I was angry.... Shït is wild I now have to turn to AI to rewrite some of my reviews to escape the b0t's hammer. Cos I don't even know WTF It's actually censoring. There's some actors names I can't mention now, some time it was directors.... Shït just keeps getting worse. You begin to wonder is this place for discussions or just for dropping random shït and bounce.

Yesterday was it for me..... Tried dropping another review, something wey I suffer they think and write for over an hour cos the show really stuck with me and I was trying to piece everything together I learnt I enjoyed from it cos it was such a wholesome experience I would love to share. Only for the #on$ens!cal to give me series of restrictions.

It really pissed me off.... Upon all the eggshells I had to avoid stepping on and many words evolving. The thing accepted it before o.... I returned back to it to re-edit a few actors I failed to give appreciation and format the text so it's a bit palatable to the eye for readers considering it's a very long read.
And bam I got red carded!! I had forgotten for some reason that actress' name is flagged for God knows what.

Total annoyance.

I dont think many people have seen it.
It's not as popular as Sopranos and The Wire but it's a very Solid show.
