Is DSS an extension of the executive? A simple is Yes! And that's perfectly normal. Is DSS independent of the executive? A simple answer is No! And that's perfectly abnormal. Conclusion: if the DSS is not an independent body then it's merely a tool used by the executive and in extension, powerful/rich individuals. Ideally, the DSS is meant to serve the interest, security and general wellbeing of the state. |
