Democracy Heroes Award: Wike, Uba Sani Emerge Best Performing Minister, Governor of the Year

Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has emerged the best performing Minister of the Year 2025, just as governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Uba Sani has emerged best performing governor of the year on the account of the humongous investment they have made to ensure dividends of democracy trickle down to the grassroot.

In the FCT, Wike a former governor of Rivers State has been commended for his efforts in enlarging the nation capital's infrastructure base, transforming it into a world class capital.

Since he came on board in 2023, FCT has witnessed noticeable transformation in terms of road network, street lighting, basic amenities as well as ridding the city of street urchins and beggars.

Also in Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani has been applauded for his efforts in maintaining security, investing in agriculture, infrastructure, and education.

Democracy Heroes Award recognizes political leaders for their contributions in deepening the culture of democracy in the country through impactful projects.

It also recognizes entrepreneurs, business, and entertainers whose contributions have helped in entrenching stability through job creation, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation measures.

Organised by the Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN), Democracy Heroes Award Africa 2025 will also honour members of the Nigerian Senate, Sani Musa and Opeyemi Bamidele, President of Botswana, Duma Gideon Boko, former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Governors of Borno, Cross River, Ondo, Oyo and Katsina.

Others include, governors of Delta, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Kebbi, the and other notable individuals from the political, business and entertainment world.

With the theme,: "Legacy of leadership: Powering Africa’s future", Democracy Heroes Award Africa 2025 will hold on 16th of October at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.

The Project Director FDN Projects, Olufunsho Ajagbonna aka Fajag while congratulating winners of the awards said the organization will continue to encourage excellent performance by recognising those who have distinguished themselves in serving the people.

He urged potential awardees not to be discouraged by the barrage of criticisms they face daily but focus towards leaving a legacy of good governance that will enhance the livelihood of majority of the masses.
