“He has withdrawn the US from the World Health Organization [WHO] and from the Paris Accord on climate, he has initiated a trade war on old friends and allies. That is not exactly what we think about when we think about a peaceful president or someone who really is interested in promoting peace,” Graeger told Reuters last month.

Trump came into office this year framing himself as the ‘peace president’ and ender of wars.

Despite this, he launched a brutal war on Yemen in March that killed hundreds of civilians. Throughout the year, he provided Israel with billions in military aid as it continued its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

He also ordered a massive US bunker-buster attack on Iranian nuclear facilities in June, in support of Israel’s illegal war on Iran. During his first term years ago, Trump illegally assassinated Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, risking a widespread regional escalation.

In fairness, as one analyst said, nominations for the peace prize are supposed to come in by January ending, so trump's nomination was late.

But as she said, that means he is in contention for next year's prize

Having said that, making peace between Palestine and Israel , at the end both sides don't want to compromise. Not trump's fault.

None was recommended to Nobel Committee by an alleged war crime suspect and perpetrator of genocide.

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to United States president Barack Obama (b. 1961) for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

Trump is doing exactly the opposite of it so he will never get it. The Trump Gaza plan is designed to further dehumanize Palestinians with a new set of occupation force and save Netanyahu from imminent disgrace having failed to achieve none of his war goals even after committing genocide in Gaza.
