The boy still get sense past you BTC value can depreciate anytime but lands can't depreciate just like that. His only mistake is buying it and doing show off. He could have buy it in his parent name and get legal backing for a transfer of ownership as soon as he is in his late 20s

I feel it is 14 hectares of land not 14k hectares.

Mind you, 1 hectare is equivalent to 1 standard football field. Imagine 14,000 football fields.

We barely have forest reserves that are up to 14k hectares in the state.

He did. A 17 year old cannot purchase land legally virtually in any nation of the world today. Including Nigeria. He must be 21 years old to be given approval of a State Governor to purchase land.

But under Nigerian law, a 17 year old is a child and lacks the legal capacity to enter into a contract

Anyone with a questionable source of wealth... Should be investigated.
