@Sheron50..thank you for your swift response. God bless you.
I understand better now.
Sheron50:
A company can’t sponsor you for a private visit , it doesn’t make logical sense when it not a business trip . If you don’t have enough funds in your own account, it shows you may not be able to afford the trip since it’s for holiday and private visit.
It’s better to improve your personal finances and show stronger home ties before reapplying, especially since you already have strong ties to Canada and they may fear you won’t return especially in a situation ur mother arrived canada illegally via usa to claim asylum in canada as stated on ur previous post ur chance of gettjng visa aprroved is extemely tiny with ur current profile..

I decided to go for reconsideration request, I wrote a comprehensive letter and pointed out where I think they where an oversight because the reason for refusal especially about funds where wrong because I had more than enough and showed many proof.
Anyway here is the reply I got from the Canadian embassy,
Who else have tried this Reconsideration request and when you get such response what does it mean please.

But bro you have already visited Canada, this is more like a renewal, it's not difficult, the people having issues are first time applicants..
TradeSunMoore:
My Canada travel visa was approved this morning. I had a 4 year visa, issued in 2021 based on passport which expired last month. I travelled to Canada with it once in December 2021. I used the IRCC portal . Processing time was 10 days

Submitted - 29th September 2025
PPR /Approval - 09 October 2025
I have biometrics till 2030. Passport submitted this morning, will revert with the length of visa issued once passport is returned.

I agree with you. It becomes easier after the first approval. That is why it is important to demonstrate a congent reason for the visit and strong home ties backed by solid financial documents .

You can use the tracker to know the duration of the visa.

Google ircc tracker and follow the prompts.
You'll see it.

Thank you

amnotapervert:
You can use monthly mutual fund profits (dividends or withdrawals) as your source of income for a visit visa.

In my opinion, strong and consistent mutual fund returns can actually serve as a good home tie, since they show you have a solid financial base and less incentive to overstay or claim asylum in Canada.

However, there are a few important conditions:

1. Show that the income is stable and recurring.
2. Provide clear proof of ownership of the mutual fund account.
3. Demonstrate overall financial stability (e.g., savings, investments, or assets).

Visa officers primarily look for regular income, so make sure to include at least 6 months of statements showing the mutual fund returns being deposited into your account.

If the profits fluctuate, briefly explain this in your cover letter — for example:“I earn an average of X million Naira per month from mutual fund investments.” Please I hope the money is large hhahahah they want to see you have money to spend in Canada and leave

Attach your mutual fund account statement(s) showing your name, account number, and investment balance

The higher and more consistent your returns, the stronger your case appears.

Even if this is your only source of income which I hope its not , it’s important to also show a healthy savings balance or investment capital.

Finally, if you have no job or business income, emphasize your strong financial and personal ties — such as property ownership, family connections, and ongoing investments — and clearly state your travel intent to avoid any impression of immigrant intent.

Thanks . I already checked it is not there yet. There is a latent period of about 48/72 hours for IRCC to update info in the tracker.

Hello EdoPresido, pls can I contact you, how were you able to resolve the PFL issue, I need your urgent guidance. Thank you

quote author=EdoPresido post=127089132]Thanks a bunch. I will try and address the issue raised by the officer. Though I am of the opinion that the agent doctored the statement.

Oga pls don't listen to advice that you or your cousin should withdraw application. You or your cousin need to be bold and defend the statement. Whatever you present will get you the visa or a refusal. Why u got this in the first place is because Ure a step closer to the visa. Don't be afraid. Let me give u a clue, one of the reasons you got that is simply because the bank statement and/or bank letter you submitted is different from the format they receive from that particular bank. I heard alot of procedural fairness that got the visa. Whatever you put in defence will make or mar your application.[/quote]

Oh I am so sorry for this. I think the major reason why you were denied is not stating clearly your source of fund even though large enough. I am saying this from experience as I got a visa approval today. I applied 4th September did biometrics 8th September. I used my savings account as POF Wic I transferred 15m into a week before application making 17m in total.
Few days back I asked a question on this forum if I can send additional documents through web form to explain source of funds but no one responded but I did anyway on the 22nd September and got a message on 26th that they recieved them.
I am a first time applicant, I applied before stumbling on this forum and realized my supporting documents were insufficient…had to send more documents through the web form twice within the waiting period.
Hello bro.
I am applying for my wife from my account for a tourist visa, should i choose Yes in the "use of representative column"? since i am the one filling the forms for her.
Also, can i use my bank statement alone as proof of funds since she is a homemaker or she has to have some money in her account?
Thanks

No, choose “No” for “Use of Representative” you’re just helping, not acting as an agent.
Yes, your bank statement is fine as proof of funds; just include a short support letter stating you’ll cover her expenses. However, with no previous travel history and her current profile , the chances of visa approval are quite low, as Canada has recently tightened visitor visa policies.

₦10 million is enough for a 7-day visit to Canada, but visa approval depends on your overall ties not just the money in your account. You must show strong connections to Nigeria such as a stable job, family responsibilities, or property ownership, along with a clear reason to return after your trip.
IRCC usually requires a recent 6-month bank statement with consistent transactions (no sudden large deposits). Unfortunately, because of the rise in asylum claims, genuine travellers are now facing stricter scrutiny, and even solid applications can sometimes be refused.

Visa fee: $100 CAD + $85 CAD for biometrics (about ₦210k–₦225k total).

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate.
About the chances of getting the visa been low, I understand.
I also have a list of countries as backup we will process for holiday.
I am looking at UK, south Africa or Rwanda as backups

Also, if I am filling the form for my son of 10 years, will I click No for use of representative too? Is a kid of 10 not too young to fill a form by himself? Likewise a kid of 5

On the 2 occassions I applied for my under aged child I ticked yes. IRCC will include IMM 5476e as part of document you will fill and upload. Remember to select your representative is uncompensated and is a friend or family member under item 6.

The answer is still no, because the invitation letter only states that he will provide accommodation, food, and transportation. You still need to show that you have enough funds to support yourself, as the visa officer’s main focus is on you, not the person inviting you. Officers are now very strict, so make sure to package your application properly.

People are funny sha — they told you 6 months and you’re still negotiating.

The IMM 5885E checklist is clear: 3 months of transaction history + 6 months average balance.

Remember, you’re coming with a Nigerian passport — don’t give them more reason to deny you

The IRCC website’s “Apply for a Visitor Visa” page suggests providing at least 6 months of account details in your statements.
