Very difficult task but not impossible.

You're right. If we beat them 2-0 it would cancel their +5 goals. They'll be on +3 while we'll be on +5.

But like you said. South Africa must not win.
These boys wey you watch today fit beat Benin 2 zero for Uyo? By Tuesday, all our mind go touch ground

We just have to win Benin at our turf by 2 goals difference and hope South Africa draw or loose
If Nwabali hadn't made an error, we would have needed to beat Benin by just a single goal and hope SA fail to win.

No! If we beat them 2-0, it will reduce their GD and increase ours and since we are on same points (assuming we beat them) we will be on Top, but South Africa must NOT win.

Bad performance. SE cannot get more than a draw from that match against Benin. I don't know how they wanna score two goals talk less of one. Then the defence is horrible. The goalkeeper sef is off. I don't think naija should go to this world cup o cos the disgrace would be epic. Benin should just win or draw and qualify. SA must not go and I'm so happy with Zimbabwe team today. They played like warriors

Nigeria's problem is NOT ethnic or tribal conflict. If Nigeria was constantly experiencing economic growth and great prosperity, then, Nigerians would have something to rally round, unite, celebrate, and proudly defend. Just like Nigerians unite, become one and celebrate major sporting glory! There are more ethnic groups in the US and Canada. People come from all over the world, and form their own Nations. We have 'Little Italy,' 'China Town' and others. The diversity of Nations and differences is much more than Nigeria. But everyone is flourishing and united under one great, prosperous Nation. Success is the greatest element that connects and integrates different people and provides a sense of unity and shared purpose. Nigerians unite, become one and celebrate major sporting, art or culture!

Nigeria's problem is INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP. They are clueless! till now! Let me give you tiny example:

The country is facing extreme lack of economic opportunities which has resulted in lack of jobs, extreme hardship, crimes and insecurity, and the leadership are building projects that do not alleviate economic hardships, create sustainable employments or generate wealth for the country. At all levels, the leadership are misplacing funds that should be used for economic development.Instead of MASSIVE scale production to create employments, they build roads, convention center, 5-Star hotel, modern market, etc. Idiot Tinubu is wasting $60 billion on bullet train. No number of road can appreciate value of Naira; only massive PRODUCTION and EXPORT will. Federal and State Governments are scrambling over each other to sign contracts for projects that pays millions of scarce dollars to foreign firms: $14 billion! $20 billion. $60 billion. $900 million! $400 million! $100 million. $50 million. Just 0.1% of the funds misplaced on bullet train can create miles of cocoa warehouses in the West for EXPORT. Cocoa production is a massive source of employment in Ghana. Nigeria can out-produce Ghana. Ebonyi State alone can saturate West Africa with Rice, etc. Industries that create gainful employment is real development, not bullet train or convention centres.

Gainful employment results in quality livelihood, creates a sense of well-being and contentment, brings happiness, peace, social stability and security. Now, they are fighting insecurity in isolation, without a clue that it is a symptom of lack of economic opportunities.

Here's a small example: do we not use tires in Nigeria? Money wasted on Enugu convention centre, for example, can fund massive palm oil industry for export to tire producing country. They are laughing at us that we use their tires, keep their industries open, and we don't sell them anything in return. And our people would run to their countries to find work. It's unbelievable.

This is just a summary of the incompetence of Nigeria's leadership. It does not matter who the leader is. Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu or Jonathan. They will all do the same thing, because they have no clue the secret of Advanced Nations.
This is completely utter crap; you obviously don't understand how a true market economy works.
The best way to jinja any economy, as done in the US even during the great depression, is by investing in capital projects such as roads, trains, airports, and others.
When you invest in such projects, lots of money will be spent by the government, lots of people will be employed, those who are paid for working on those projects will use that money to buy other things in that very market, such as food, houses, lands, cars etc. The money they are spending will trickle down to other parts of the economy. The govt will also purchase lots of materials for these projects -everything cannot be imported—trucks, sand, plastics, rods, and many more from the local market.
You can't build roads, airports, trains, and others without hiring lots of local experts, laborers, tractor drivers, engineers, food deliveries, and the list goes on and on.
Go and read about the Great Depression in the US and how they got out of it. They are still using the same technique anytime the economy goes into a serious depression.

These are some examples of iconic projects in the US today that were built back then to get out of the depression

"During the Great Depression, massive infrastructure projects were built through government programs like the New Deal, including iconic structures such as the Hoover Dam, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Empire State Building. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Public Works Administration (PWA) also funded countless other projects, including the creation of new schools, libraries, parks, roads, and airports. "

Pls do more research before writing such a long epistle.

I can almost predict the outcome of both matches with a good degree of accuracy .

South Africa to win at home against Rwanda.
Nigeria to draw at home to Benin.
Wrong and inaccurate predictions.

Eritrea withdrew from the qualifiers which means one group has 1 team less. To balance it off, FIFA usually deducts points earned from the last-placed team in each group. For our group, it's likely to be Zimbabwe who we got only 2 points from. Most of those teams at the top of the 2nd placed teams table will have 6 points deducted from their points while Nigeria will only have 2 points deducted.
We will still not finish 1st or 2nd ...the best we wikk get out of Benin is a draw.. South Africa will win ....

Just 2. If we defeat them 2-0, we'll both be on +5 goals. So it would come down to head to head. Which would favour us cos we lost 2-1 to them in their home and defeated them 2-0 in our home.
