If we beat them 2-0, their goals will reduce to +3 while Nigeria will be +5. Nigeria only need to beat them 1-0 so they can both be on +4. Provided SA draw their next match, away goal should qualify Nigeria.
Nigeria needs 2 goals. Head to head is not the first criteria to break a tie if the teams are level on point.

You just aired my mind ...seriously how did they managed to top this table some years back every country will like to play Benin just to get free or easy 3 points .

Then they got serious and started bringing in some Nigerians like the former Arsenal man Emmanuel Adebayor and after reaching their first ever world cup they have really grown football wise that's how a serious nation develops.
Are you mistaken Togo for Benin cus the last time I checked Adebayor played for Togo and Benin hasn’t qualified for World Cup before

And we will be tied on goal difference and goals scored but we will edge them on head to head.

No! If we beat them 2-0, it will reduce their GD and increase ours and since we are on same points (assuming we beat them) we will be on Top, but South Africa must NOT win.

Very true.

I suspect South Africa will win, in that case any win that can qualify another Team AUTOMATICALLY is a Benin Win in Nigeria. If you ask me, I am all for it!

And if we must bet on an outside chance of being considered for 2nd best, we still need to beat Benin by 2 clear goals!

The odds stacked against Nigeria is high but it is possible but I am not crossing my fingers....
Not 2 goals bro, just 1 unreplied goal will be ok if Southy mess up

The truth is that super eagle will only go and disgrace themselves in the world Cup. It is better we allow Benin qualifies.

Let us stop all these permutations. Does Nigeria really deserve to go to World Cup ? Have they scored more than two goals in a game ? How many clean sheets have they kept ? Super Eagles is not as good as we take them to be. To make matter worse, mediocre coaches were employed because they are Nigerians. The NFF don't even think.
Honestly my bro, I am not among those making any permutations. I’m just correcting some people who are doing so on what it will take for us to qualify.
And talking about whether they deserved to go there or not. Qualifiers are different from tournaments proper.
.
In 1992, Denmark didn’t qualify for the Euros but was invited after Yugoslavia or one country like that pull out. Denmark went on to win the tournament.
Brazil struggled to qualify for the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup, but ended up winning it.
Portugal was best loser in Euro 2016 but went to win the tournament. So they’re many cases like that. Let them qualify first and let’s see how it goes

You just expressed one of our biggest problems. We read books, and willy-nilly implement ideas, without considering special circumstances. The United States was already an economic Juggernaut. The great deal was designed to inject money into the economy to make people spend money. First, if injecting money into the economy was Tinubu's intention, why did Tinubu introduce policies that created austerity measures? Tinubu's policies made basic commodities so expensive and affordable, to the extreme that people can barely afford basic, survival items? How does this situation inject money into the economy? That is eminently contradictory. Second, what are you producing that people are going to buy to stimulate the economy? This is why Nigerians become humbled when they come abroad, and realize that all the things they think they know are utter rubbish. The only people who will benefit from the construction projects are Tinubu and his corrupt group, who will have kickbacks deposited into their foreign accounts. Is that not the reason Wike is maniacally building Abuja. What difference has all that construction done to Nigeria's economy? No number of road can appreciate value of Naira!

Most of the projects would not be completed, anyway. Employments created by construction projects are FINITE, temporary jobs, which last until the project is finished or abandoned. Construction projects do not create SUSTAINABLE and QUALITY employments. Even if they create jobs, they do not help diversify the economy, earn foreign exchange revenue, raise the value of the local currency, rescue the economy from dangerous dependence on one major export, or initiate massive industrialization. We need to produce! On a massive scale. We already have the funds. Later, Tinubu would fly around to looking for investors to invest $12 billion in Nigeria's economy, when he himself is spending $100 billion on bullet train and road projects. You already had the funds, the minerals and natural resources and vibrant population, to manufacture on a massive, INDUSTRIAL scale, and have ALL Nigerians working. I say ALL because anyone who wants a job here in Canada, US and other Advanced Nations will find it. People come from all over the world, and find work. Do you think it's miracle?
You raised so many false narratives, and I don't have time to counter them all. To the bolded, so only Tinubu family members and his so-called cronies are going to be employed on these projects that will take years to complete? The Lagos-Calabar road alone has been going on for about a year and a half now. I drove on the road at least 4 times from VI to Jakande already. Very nicely done and a game-changer for generations to come. People are working on the project daily and will continue for years to come.

On your other false narrative about Jobs in Canada. I have lived about 40 years in the US and have visited Canada more than 40 times. I used to live in Detroit, where we used to just cross the border from Detroit to Windsor for just about anything when crossing was still a cake walk before 9/11.
Pls tell us how many major industries in Canada and the US are owned by the governments of these 2 countries?,
These countries already have advanced economies, while Nigeria was still trying to gain independence. Even with that, now getting a job is not as easy a task as it used to be, even in the US. Right now, I know people who have degrees from prestigious institutions struggling to land a job that used to be ready for them before they even graduated. In fact, a lot of people who graduated from Harvard Business School are struggling to get jobs; this used to be automatic.
Back to my main point, the government should not be in the business of starting businesses; the government should create an enabling environment for private individuals like Dangote, Oyenmaand others to start businesses and employ people.

Govt job is to build roads, schools, rail systems, business special areas, electricity, and other factors that will help any business to succeed.
We have ways to go, but we are heading in the right direction.

The govt should not be i the business of dictating the price of currency, let the market determine the value of your currency., It might be hard now, but it will be off in the long run.

Govt-owned enterprises have worked for China, but it has basically failed everywhere else.

Group B. Congo DR in 2nd place. They currently have 19points and +8 goals diff. 6 points and 4 goals will be deducted since they won South Sudan 4-1 and 1-0. They will be left with 13 points. If they win their last match. They will be on 16 points. Congo host Sudan on Tuesday.

Group C. Group of Nigeria. If SA draw or lose and we win Benin by 1-0, we will qualify automatically as group leader. We will move to 2nd place if SA win and we best Benin 1-0. Group G. Uganda is in 2nd place. They currently have 18points and +6goals diff. 6 points and +3goals will be deducted since they won Somalia, the bottom place team 2-0 and 1-0. They will be left with 12points. If they win their last match, they will move on to 15points. Uganda plays away against Algeria on Tuesday

Group H. Namibia is in 2nd with 15points and +6 goals diff. 6 points and 5 goals diff will be deducted since they won Sao Tome 3-0 and 2-0. They will be left with 9points. If they win their last match, they will move on to 12points

4 best 2nd place team will qualify for play offs.
Serious serious permutation and combination. 😀😀

This idiotic nwabali error will most likely cost us our world cup place.

That error is so damning. It changes the complexion of the entire group and the match against Benin. We now need to beat them by at least two goals to even have a chance for a play off spot if South Africa wins.

Oh, why are we so blessed.
Believe me. That guy sold the match to South Africa. Watch the first goal and watch the nearly missed 2nd goal. Catch and Drop tactics.

Nigeria dare not score just one goal. They need 2 goals. Head to head is the number 3 criteria to break tie.
.
Tie breaker criteria in case of equal points
1. Overall goal difference
2. Number of goals scored
3. Head to head results of team involved
4. Goal difference in head to head matches between team tied.
5. Number of goals scored in head to head matches between tied teams
6. Number of away goals scored between the tied team. This is where we edge them if we will beat them 1-0 because we scored away.

If we best them 1 0
1. Same +4
2 Same 12 goals
3. Same 2-1 and 1-0
4. Same. +1 and +1
5. Same. 2 goals each
6. This is where we edge it if we best them 1 nil. We scored away.

the painful is that he was sack for just no reason after he done suffer carry us reach playoffs because in the eyes of Nigeria any coach and coach our team not knowing football is a game of tactics. Dry let him go when he was ripe to win us titles. Na him players piesero use take go final. U see this African coaches their own na just to play attacking football without brain
Bro, back then, multiple OAPs, journalists and so called ex internationals didn't allow us hear word. Even if they wanted to sack him, at least they should have allowed him take us to that 2021 AFCON. Instead the NFF employed Eguavoen few weeks to the tournament and then he got us knocked out at the Round of 16, and eventually failed to qualify us for the 2022 World Cup.

The funny thing is that Peseiro only succeeded at the last AFCON because he adopted Gernot Rohr's strategy. Nigerians hate the truth.

This is the reason we didn't qualify for the last world cup. We play 0-0 in Kumasi Ghana but played 1-1 in Abuja. They edge us on away goals rule. It would have gone to extra time and penalty if no such rule exist.
So 1-0 is enough in Uyo. We qualify as group leaders if SA fails to win or we hope other results in other groups following Eritrea lifeline go our way if SA wins and we beat Benin 1-0.

As it stands is not in south Africa hands anymore but to me they are still favorite to advance .
Benin just need a point against us but a win for them we secure their place.
Why Nigeria need 3 u reply goals and pray south Africa draw lol Omo we are out of it cause is mission impossible
nigeria need a 1-0 win and south africa draws to qualify. we would tie in everything with benin from goal difference etc except that we had 1 away goal against them that they don't have and we would qualify. SA need a win to qualify and hope we beat or draw benin. if benin win nigeria they qualify irrespective of what SA play. if SA is winning rwanda it is best we just loose to benin so that benin qulaify instead of SA

Oh, my God. How could you have lived in North America for so long, and be expressing such massive ignorance. Oh, my God!!!!!!!! God_Ah_beg_oh!

Let me educate you how the so-called capitalist economies are fooling third world morons:

I live and work in an important and strategic department, with an extensive and vantage view of the system that I am talking about. sit down and learn:

Assuming the federal government wanted to create 20,000 jobs, the Government could GRANT each State, say, $1.5 billion (with clear mandate, strict guidelines, high scrutiny and auditing.) The mandate could be to generate sustainable employments through Export industries by industrializing each State's natural resources. Choose any resource or product

In turn, States would liaise with Banks, who would invite industries and industrialists to openly bid for the business. Successful bidders would be the owners of the industries, who will, then, start hiring workers.
The fund from federal government to States is a grant, but the finance to businesses will be a favorable, low interest BANK LOAN. It is taxes and loan repayment that are used for road construction. So, Federal or State governments have zero stake or control in the business. It's all privately owned.

Since Tinubu loves flying around around, he will be looking for TRADE PARTNERS, not begging for INVESTORS.

Let me give you an example: Assuming we are looking for a trade Partner to purchase palm oil of, say, Imo State, we could make a pitch to a tire producing country. They buy our palm oil, and we will buy their tires. So, tires from our trade partner will enjoy favorable tariffs. So, importers will import from our trade partner, because they will pay less duties. That's an elementary format of international trade. Instead, Tinubu is running around looking for investors, when we already have the funds for economic development. Who do you think underwrites large-scale business loans in America and Canada?

Have you ever heard of GOOGLE? It was financed by the US Military. Google it! Have you ever heard of Elon Musk. Find out how much the US government is behind his businesses.

Are you not aware that food supply of the United States of America is almost totally, completely, absolutely funded by the US Government through Billions and Billions of Grants and subsidies to farmers? Nigeria is starving and building road, the US government is funding their farmers to produce food.

Have you ever heard of Area 51? It is a cutting edge R & D (Research and Development) Facility fully run by the US government. What do you think happens to inventions and technologies that come from this facility and other facilities. It is pushed into the public domain through private businesses. But these technologies are fully developed by the US government

Nigeria is closer to crippling socialism than capitalism, because Nigeria is practicing a retrogressive, over-centralized economic system that equalizes all States in the Federation to a standstill. Nigeria is practicing a centralized system that nationalizes poverty. Can the US Government control oil revenue of Texas or Alska the way Nigerian government is doing to Rivers resource revenue? Can Canadian government take the revenue of Alberta petroleum?

Just like most Nigerians, you live abroad, but have no clue how the economic system works. If you don't know, then, imagine how less people in Nigeria know.

Tinubu prides himself in applying all the methods that IMF and WORLD BANK uses to wreck cthird world countries. They make you remove subsidies, devalue your currency, depreciate your national asset, so that you will be reduced to nothing for easy picking. Meanwhile, their entire economy rests indirectly on subsidies.

Have you ever heard of BAIL OUT? Do you know how much every business in Canada received for Covid? Government gives big failing industries Billions upon Billions of dollars to prop them up, so that citizens will have jobs. If you did the same, they will tell you it is socialism. And you will wait for them to come and invest in your economy, when you have the money, resources and workforce. All you have to do is hide behind Banks, and develop your country.

Give me Nigeria, and, in 2 years, the country will be prosperous. Crimes, insecurity and social instability will decline, because of abundance of jobs. Tribal conflicts would significantly reduce, because success creates contentment, happiness, unity.
