nigeria need a 1-0 win and south africa draws to qualify. we would tie in everything with benin from goal difference etc except that we had 1 away goal against them that they don't have and we would qualify. SA need a win to qualify and hope we beat or draw benin. if benin win nigeria they qualify irrespective of what SA play. if SA is winning rwanda it is best we just loose to benin so that benin qulaify instead of SA
he go. Better say we go check half time score to check if south Africa dey win if that the case our coach should iinstruct our players to score own. Goal

I understand but isn't there some joy with us just taking part in the worldcup? We can at least hope they get their acts together by some miracle before the worldcup and have a good one. Anyhow still fun if we qualify but I get your point.
So you prioritize your jpy over hardwork.. just listen to yourself, anytime you wonder why nogeria is an anyhow country, imagine how many people who think like ypu contributed to make it happen. Just for your pleasure, you are happy another is pulled down, rather tham you competing to be the best. World cup is not where you go to mark attendamce. Serious countries who have prepared for many uears are there waiting to show you they are the best amd why they are worthy for the cup then you come with your unprepared team talking about joy to attend. You are not serious.

Standings after tonight's match.

My bet is that we do not qualify. My choice is that we don't attend the finals and be disgraced.

Golden Eagles lack real talents, one could make exception for one or two but yet not world class.

As is with most of our sports administrations, we need some serious reality checks

Why does everyone have the assumption that South African won't win their last game , I'm I missing something here ?

rwanda is a better side than zimbabwe. both have nothing to play for but zimbabwe drew south africa. it is very possible for rwanda to draw SA if they really want to.

There's no need to make it hard for republic of beni at this point. Let's just play draw. better for Benin to go to world cup than SouthAfrica

No. If we best them 1 0, we will be tied on goal difference (+4) goals for(12) and goal against(cool. But we will edge them on head to head.
we cant edge them on head to head, they have scored 12 goals and conceded 7, while we have scored 10 and conceded 7.

if we beat Benin 1-0, we now have 11 goals and conceded 7, , but they still have 12 goals and conceded 8. They scored more goals than we did. We need to edge Benin by a 2 goal margin to have any chance of qualification. We defeated 3-0 some months back in African cup of nation qualification, but whether we can replicate same feat is a serious doubt for me as this super eagles lack the mental fortitude to deliver when it matters most. By the way, if we win in 3 days from now, it will still the worst world cup qualification performance we have had in at least 40 years.

Morocco isn’t going to mark attendance
They would be looking to get to the final

It’s the formation
The setup isn’t effective
Chelle to me isn’t a winner
We can’t win AFCON with his 4-4-2 set up

Match don finish.

Oya make we bring out our Calculators. World Cup is still possible.

Make South Africa lose today/Draw and also draw the next match.

Make Nigeria beat Benin by just 2-0.

We will be home and dry.

It is possible.
Keep dreaming, these breed of super eagles are not like the ones we have before.

.
Tie breaker criteria in case of equal points
1. Overall goal difference
2. Number of goals scored
3. Head to head results of team involved
4. Goal difference in head to head matches between team tied.
5. Number of goals scored in head to head matches between tied teams
6. Number of away goals scored between the tied team. This is where we edge them if we will beat them 1-0 because we scored away.

If we best them 1 0
1. Same +4
2 Same 12 goals
3. Same 2-1 and 1-0
4. Same. +1 and +1
5. Same. 2 goals each
6. This is where we edge it if we best them 1 nil. We scored away.

Nwabali and Ekong.
Alright I get the point you are making here.

Lolz, you’re on nairaland chatting me and browsing. Why don’t you first ask google if fifa still use head to head or not? It’s only Uefa that cancels it and it’s in their club competitions
Did you see where I said FIFA don't use head to head. What I said is according to their criteria the head to head is number three

Kalulu44:
And I say it again they need just 1 unreplied goal. Or you don’t know head to head rules again
That's because they are tied and cannot be separated based on criteria 1 and 2.

Best 2nd place analysis. Eritrea rule

Group A. Burkina Faso in 2nd place. They currently have 18points and +13 goals diff . 6 pts and 9 goals will be deducted since they won Djibouti bottom place team 6-0 and 4-1. They will be left with 12 points. If they win their last match, they will be on 15. Burkina Faso host Ethiopia on Sunday

Group B. Congo DR in 2nd place. They currently have 19points and +8 goals diff. 6 points and 4 goals will be deducted since they won South Sudan 4-1 and 1-0. They will be left with 13 points. If they win their last match. They will be on 16 points. Congo host Sudan on Tuesday.

Group C. Group of Nigeria. If SA draw or lose and we win Benin by 1-0, we will qualify automatically as group leader. We will move to 2nd place if SA win and we best Benin 1-0. We will move to 17 points and +4 goals diff but 2 points and 0 goals will deducted because we drew 1-1( in both legs) with Zimbabwe, the bottom place team in our group.

Group D. Cameroon in 2nd place. They currently have 18points and +12 goals. 4 points and +3 goals will be deducted since they won Eswatini the bottom place team 3-0 and 0-0.. They will be left with 14points. If they win their last match, they will be on 17points. Cameroon host Angola on monday

Group E. Niger is 2nd on 12 points and 0 goals diff. This is the affected Eritrea group. Nothing will be deducted here. Niger will be on 15 points if they win their last match. Niger play away against Zambia on Sunday

Group F. Gabon is 2nd here on 22 points and +11 goals diff. 6 points and +7 goals will be deducted since they won Seychelles 4-0 and 3-0. They will be left with 16points. If they win their last match, they will be on 19points. Gabon host Burundi on Tuesday.

Group G. Uganda is in 2nd place. They currently have 18points and +6goals diff. 6 points and +3goals will be deducted since they won Somalia, the bottom place team 2-0 and 1-0. They will be left with 12points. If they win their last match, they will move on to 15points. Uganda plays away against Algeria on Tuesday

Group H. Namibia is in 2nd with 15points and +6 goals diff. 6 points and 5 goals diff will be deducted since they won Sao Tome 3-0 and 2-0. They will be left with 9points. If they win their last match, they will move on to 12points
Namibia plays away against Tunisia on monday

Group I. Madagascar is in 2nd here with 19points and 8goals diff. 6points and +5goals will be deducted since they won Chad 3-1 and 3-0. They will be left with 13 points. They will move to 16points if they win their last match. Madagascar plays away against Mali

4 best 2nd place team will qualify for play offs.
Serious serious permutation and combination. 😀😀
Rohr needs an outright win as a draw will take their fates out of their hands and they will also hope Rwanda does them a favour by winning or drawing. South Africa has a clear cut mission:Beat Rwanda and top the group, any other result they(South Africa) are out.

Stop the let's get 1 or 2 goals mantra as that depends on the outcome of the following:
Burkina Faso vs Ethiopia
Mali v Madagascar
Algeria v Uganda.
It is only if these matches end in a draw that the let's get 1 or 2 goals mantra becomes an agenda and even at that Super Eagles defence will need not to concede for the let's get 2 goals mantra to be a good option.

I repeat let's get 4 goals mantra will be the best option.

My friend stop the flimsy excuses and tell me why your super chickens couldn’t beat them at home
I don’t really understand the point you’re trying to make here. The fact that Nigeria couldn’t beat Lesotho and Zimbabwe at home shouldn’t be used to justify Zimbabwe playing South Africa in South Africa. That game clearly gave South Africa a home advantage and honestly, it felt unfair. The stadium was filled with South African fans, which gave their team overwhelming support and an undue advantage. This match should have been played in a neutral venue, preferably in one of the neighbouring countries.

It was approved even before the qualifiers kicked off, why didn’t your NFF and other FA kicked against it.
And I repeat what I said earlier, that decision wasn’t the reason why our Super chickens couldn’t win their home matches
