so this morning i come remember say my papa truck don dey police station for over 5 years plus now, i decided to go clear the issues since e involve accident and we don settle am sha. na so i go jam another case there, this one involve man wey cooling van bash him car, if you dey ph you go understand how ikwerre people dey behave. na so the bros vex oh mobilize him brothers dem seize the cooling van go park for him compound (e don see say na company car e won wicked them so em go fit kill em with billing) 2 months pass em no come for the truck, na so the man wey seize the truck come dey perceive some kind bad smell from the truck, e sharply go find the company people say make em come make em discuss on how them go repair him car then carry em truck. na so company go involve police for the matter, police come carry the truck and the man wey seize am come station. now em open truck na fish of over 15m don spoil so, them ask mechanic say how much to fix the car e talk say kpata kpata e no go pass 350k because of them go replace him back lights. now check and balance na the guy come dey owe company over 15m now. e dey cry say the company set am up. now for this life always learn to know the difference between opportunity and greed/taking advantage of other people’s mistake. and another thing na learn to follow due procedures even if you know your rights, you fit dey right make your actions come make you wrong.

You don't seize people's property; the law doesn't give you such powers. If he had followed due process, he'd have benefitted the more. |

If you had been in that man's position you may do same ,How a company left 15m worth of perishable goods against a 350k repair of damaged property baffles my thought , any way humans are wired differently. I just pray and hope they would be able to recoup their losses from the man in the nearest future. |

Ahhh. Whooping N15m? Legally speaking, the case get K-Leg o. There was no disclosure about the content of the trucks nor talk of it's value. This should have been said by the company when they were aware that the truck was seized so technically it might just be a bait to let the goods rot and damages will now be on the person that seized the truck. Luminary speaking, the fracas it will generate will give hocus pocus for a legal battle tantamount to jeopardize tranquility and eloquent peace between the man & the company provided there was no prior notification probis crismus-crismus. No paraphernalia of negotiation will exonerate the man that ceized the truck nor any legal acumen to justify the case as it wasn't taken to police station. But the onus and operandi is on the poor man. His fatal mistake was his fragmentized omission of reporting to law enforcement agency like NPF. The matter go tey for court cos that man can't afford N15m even if they sell him.

A friend of mine manages a cooling van. He was with the driver when they accidentally scratched a Toyota Camry along Rumuokwuta in Port Harcourt. The owner of the Camry and his brother got angry, attacked my friend with an iron rod, and hit him on the head. Things escalated quickly, and the police got involved, eventually seizing both vehicles. It turns out the cooling van belongs to a prominent politician in Rivers State, and my friend is like a son to him. The politician took the matter seriously and brought in a lawyer. Although the damage to the Camry would have cost just about ₦20,000 to fix, the lawyer filed a case demanding ₦1 million in damages. After some negotiation and pleading, the Camry owner ended up paying ₦400,000. |

Love800:From your comment, I already know the region you came from. Even if you want to seize the man’s vehicle, are you supposed to take it to your house or to the Police Station? If I were the owner of that Company, I would make sure that Man is remanded in the Police Station until he pays me my 15Million Naira. |
