That's $300 - $20 discount = $280 * 1585 = ₦443,800

With GTB
That's $300 * 1485 = ₦445,500

The difference of ₦1,700 is inconsequential to me. On the surface it looks like a steal but they are using rate padding to offset the discount they are giving you.

Wait till Monday, they are very likely going to have someone bring it. You can however follow up by sending them a message on Facebook early Monday morning to expedite action on this. They almost always respond on that platform.

I sent a mail to both POS Malaysia and Nigerian Post office with respect to orders from they both facilitate and POS Malaysia says to reach out to NIPOST as theirs is just to get it to Nigeria while NIPOST does the rest.

NIPOST responded to my mail saying items with said tracking number aren't "priority mails" and so can't be tracked. Their advice is to manually check the post office to see if said items is in their custody from time to time.

How can you ship from Malaysia to Nigeria an item that isnt on priority. Mine is a phone as usual, i dont know what yours is but like i have been advising just process a refund. I have accepted my loss because a refund will be with the current lesser exchange rate. Waiting for the date Aliexpress advised which is 17th of this month.

It was shipped as small item, which quite frankly isn't priority. Not sure why AliExpress did that particularly because I was even charged for delivery, but items categorised as small items aren't priority items. It's why they are also difficult to track and have a average delivery timeline of 2 months from findings I have made.

Mine is also a phone, and I won't be requesting a refund except it is the last resort. (I strongly believe I won't have to and will just wait it out). Asides the face that I've already waited this long, I really need said device so requesting a refund and starting the entire process all over again doesn't make sense to me. Your point about the difference in value one would get upon refund is another consideration. I'm also encouraged because I know someone who ordered exactly same item and it took 2 months before NIPOST called him. This explains my decision to wait it out a bit.

Quick question though: at what point is it impossible to request a refund? Is there a timeline one must compulsorily made said refund request if items aren't delivered?

Mine will be 2 months on the 17th for an item that cost 700k. That isn't something easy to wait out.

Normally, refund for undelivered items is alway possible at the end of "buyers' protection period". Therefore, as long as the protection period is still active, any refund request made would be declined by Aliexpress.

The only exception to this (there could be more) is when items are returned to origin. Here, you may have to open dispute in respect of such item — without waiting for expiration of the PP — and support your claims with pics of the tracking information as evidence. Your refund would be issued without delay!
