I own a 3.5kva Generator, my inverter is 24v 4.2kva. No matter what I do it won't charge from the generator. Even with charging current lowered to 20 amps.

Whenever I turn on I always hear a clicking sound from the inverter and the light will be flickering. My system is grid only for now. How do I go about this?

Thanks for your response. After making this post I had to lower charging current to 10 amps and its charging now.

Pardon my curiosity. After supplying your inverter with 10amps, what else can your generator power?
Or do you suspend all other connections to generator while charging your inverter

Used panels are great even cracked ones will not disappoint. Used panels pass some repackaged new ones. Some used panels' spec s are too sweet. Your pocket controls alot. What matter is satisfaction and yield enough to charge your batteries. Use ur sense.

During our time sef, internet never really mature enough or littered with as much content as we got today.

My first and second set of solar panels were all bought brand new BUT then, I wasn't armed with the wealth of knowledge I have today.

Once again, a lot of solar panels being sold as BRAND NEW , are Properly washed and packed USEd solar panels.

Wonder why these people dey worry themselves when even if we talk from now till next century, their customers would hardly listen to us + a lot of sales are happening offLine.

Mind you, Solar panels sef get grade and quality. Some USEd panels's output fit surpass that of some actual brand new Ones.

He mentioned 4.2kva inverter, not 4.2kwh battery. If he is on band A like myself, he only needs to charge enough for a few hours, switch off gen to avoid noise at night and await Nepa.

It's 8.2kwh actually. Got about 10% after 2hrs. Got no other option at the moment coz street transformer got bad.

since u want to use 0.75hp pumping machine ,u should up your budget.

Now despite not being a complete quotation, yours is stating ₦1,425,000

Don't forget, e get reason I specifiically asked for his maxBudget before saying anything.

Did you bother to think if Max budget stated by @Bankyshinani is a hard one. e get some kind maxBudget wey we fit talk just make e no be like say we no serious BUT we no pray to near am.

Also, with his load, 24v system is super poor. Mind you, personally, I use both 12v (with no inverter), and 48 systems. Never opportuned to use 24v system probably because I knew better already AND to be honest, except cost is really really an issue, no one who's expperienced 48v system, would easily use a 24v system. You might think you saving costs WHEN in realitty, it's the opposite.

Once again, you're actually at an advantage buying used INVERTERs, Charge Controllers, so long they have no hidden issues. Even USEd Solar panels cheap wella so long it's not disColoured or cracked or a low quality one hence reason you or your installer need know how to spot them.
na for batteries, e better you go for NEW quality ones; except you opportuned to find a USEd one as good as NEW.

Installed on almost flat roof without any strings attached to roof, na hurricane go fit comot am. The weight of panels are enough to survive high winds. Am not sure of those send down the rain roofs oo.

Those with those roofs may not have a choice, that maybe the approved house plan.

Especially in estates you either buy that way or build that way and you can't do anything about it

The only option maybe to build a carport and thus control the tilt to some extent

How do you set up the controller to charge lifepo4 battery (I want to know of I did something wrong).

Now in the image below, you can see the battery voltage is 53v but the controller is still stuck at 12v and it keep giving me 12v parameters which I have no business with.

I replaced the battery with a dry cell and connected it to it to see if it will recognise it, it worked.

Also some of the errors it keeps displaying are not in the manuals

there is no single advantage in buying used inverters or CC, cos most of them are outdated or previously worked on. also buying used panels is a no go area , most of them are already relabelled with higher capacity and u can't be sure of it efficiency again.
