Sacked Enugu State APC EXCO Rejects Dissolution, Fights Back by Bobloco(op): 4:15pm On Oct 12, 2025
…Directs members to disregard caretaker committee arrangement

The dissolved Enugu State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected its dissolution by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), insisting that it was not informed of any constitutional breach, misconduct, or infraction to justify such action.

In a 12-point statement signed by members of the dissolved 40-member executive, the group maintained that it was duly elected in accordance with the provisions of the APC Constitution (2022 as amended). They described the dissolution as inconsistent with the party’s constitution and principles of internal democracy.

The statement read in part:

“The attention of the Enugu State Executive Committee of the APC has been drawn to a resolution purportedly passed by the National Working Committee (NWC) during its 179th meeting held on October 9, 2025, wherein it allegedly dissolved the duly elected Enugu State Executive Committee and appointed a seven-man caretaker committee led by Mr. Ben Nwoye.

“We wish to state unequivocally that the Enugu State Executive Committee was duly elected through the party congress in accordance with the APC Constitution. The Enugu State Chapter of the APC was never informed of any constitutional breach, misconduct, or infraction that could justify the purported dissolution.”

Citing Articles 21.1, 21.2, and 21.3 of the APC Constitution, the statement argued that only the National Executive Committee (NEC), upon recommendation from the Zonal Executive Committee, has the authority to institute disciplinary proceedings against a state executive.

The purported dissolution by the NWC therefore amounts to a gross overreach and is unconstitutional, as the Enugu State Executive Committee has neither disobeyed any directive nor engaged in any act of indiscipline,” it stated.

The dissolved EXCO also alleged that most of those named to serve in the caretaker committee were not in good standing with the party, claiming that some had been suspended for anti-party activities, while one had previously resigned from the APC.

The statement further directed all elected officers at the state, local government, and ward levels to remain in their positions and continue carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.

“All members of the APC in Enugu State are hereby instructed to disregard any purported dissolution or caretaker arrangement, as those behind it lack the constitutional authority to issue such directives. Members are strongly advised not to attend or participate in any meeting convened by the said caretaker committee or its agents,” the statement concluded.

The Enugu APC crisis deepened following the NWC’s October 9 resolution, which announced the dissolution of the state executive and appointment of an interim leadership to oversee party affairs pending further directives from the national secretariat

The decision of the Party is final.

Party leadership is within the internal affairs of any Party and no Court can adjudicate thereon. The Party has decided, move on.
creolehunt:
How come courts have been adjudication on Abure and LP cases. Same as Anyanwu and PDP cases?
In both cases, the Supreme Court held that it is within the internal affairs of the Party so it cannot help the Party determine its own leadership.

The Court urged them to go settle their respective issues, it didn't give any pronouncement(s) on who is the National Chairman of LP or who is the National Secretary of the PDP.

Lol. Due to greed, Tinubu will end up losing from both ends. He keeps sabotaging the political ambitions of APC members in all opposition states by promising the governors that APC won't field candidates against them. Why won't they jump at the offer to decamp when they all see an opportunity to run unopposed? That doesn't mean they would be able to convince their supporters to deliver their states to Tinubu. Meanwhile, the erstwhile loyal APC members would be too aggrieved to work for the party in the presidential election and might even sabotage it. A leader who only cares about himself. So dark the con of man!

What is the usefulness of the aggrieved APC members in Enugu state to the party? The dissolved exco couldn't mobilize 5% of total vote cast in the state for the party. So, what exactly are they aggrieved over?

As at today, the governor is the best performing governor in the south east. Apart from the governor, all the PDP structure in the state is moving to APC. All the senators, House of Reps members, PDP state executive council, All members of the State Executive Council, All local government chairmen and councilors, all political appointees etc. That is more than a bargain for any party. Your Atiku will be so happy to see just one senator from the entire south east decamp to his useless ADC party that has failed to gain momentum nationwide.

This message is simple: You are useless to APC

Simple question, how does all these translate into votes for Tinubu in Enugu come 2027? You think because Tinubu, out of desperation, promised the incumbent governor that APC won't field a candidate against him, it will now translate to the people of Enugu state voting for Tinubu?

So why didn't Tinubu win the APC states of Ebonyi, Imo and Cross River in 2023? All these states returned their governors under the APC by the way. Even Lagosians voted against Tinubu but returned Sanwo-olu as governor. It is not necessarily the APC that is unpopular, it is Tinubu. Many Northern states with APC governors also failed to convince their people to vote Tinubu against the alternative.

Your question showed your lack of knowledge about how to win a presidential election in Nigeria and it is clear to see why Atiku has been losing since 1993 since he is surrounded by folks like you.

Winning a state does not count for anything in deciding who wins the presidential election. What determines the winner is the total number of votes and getting 25% in at least 2/3 of the states and FCT. So, APC got barely 4k votes in a big state like Enugu in 2023 and got 42k votes in smaller Ebonyi state. So, is the impact of Ebonyi being an APC lost to you?

In 2027, nobody is saying APC will win Enugu if Peter Obi is on the ballot. However, the party structure with the backing of the governor will not be getting 4k votes again. If Obi is not on the ballot, then it will be an easy victory for the party. The fact that the governor is a performer even puts APC in a better situation. Head or tail, this is a big boost for APC in the state.

This is because Labour Party is not ready.

In this case, it's a State Chapter of the Party and not the National.
Labour Party should hold a National Convention, that's the only way out.

Obi & Otti are most likely on their way out. They just want to use the crisis as alibi to leave last minute.

Whether 4k or 40k votes, that's below 25% and these are just votes from one polling unit in the North. Tinubu, the supposed "Southern candidate" had better win his entire Southern constituency in 2027 convincingly. Winning in only 4 SW states while failing to even secure 25% in any other Southern state will not be good enough in 2027.

The state chairman of APC in Enugu state doesn't understand the dynamics of politics.

I watched him on video saying that

.....Gov Mbah would not be welcomed to APC bcoz he wouldn't work with him. Therefore Mbah should remain in his PDP and never venture to join APC bcoz the exco would not welcome him.

Those are his statements which the headquarters are not happy with. So, the leadership has sacrificed the exco for the coming in of Mbah.
Re: Sacked Enugu State APC EXCO Rejects Dissolution, Fights Back by Kelklein(m): 9:36pm On Oct 12, 2025
The problem with these governors is the greed inherent in them. They decamp from PDP and still want to control the structure they left and the ones they are taking over. Most regions where decamping has happened are doing that.

And the toothless National body looks forlorn as the party is killed from within..

Indeed everywhere has been captured.
Re: Sacked Enugu State APC EXCO Rejects Dissolution, Fights Back by Bwanasaraw: 10:28pm On Oct 12, 2025
Governor Peter Mbah lacks vision and ideology that's why Wike called him paper weight politician. He doesn't care about how those that elect him will feel, all he thinks about is how to protect his investments in Lagos State.

No wonder he refused to support PDP candidates in the upcoming Anambra State Gubernatorial election.

He would still have won his re-election bid if he remains in PDP.

You should be worrying about how Atiku will get 25% in any state in the South.

Atiku is finished. He won’t even get 25% in Bayelsa because the governor will also be in APC before the next election.

25% is actually asking for too much to be honest. I really don’t see how Atiku on the ADC platform will get 5% in any southern state without an Atiku/Obi ticket.

Lol. Tinubu himself is chasing 25% in these states. Anything short of Tinubu winning the South (not just SW) in a landslide will make his pathway to re-election very difficult, if not impossible. Tinubu will defeat Atiku in the North. In 2023 he did so, in 2027, he will still defeat Atiku.

We just need to ensure Kano/Kaduna/Katsina go the way they did in 2023 and Atiku is finished.

For North central state, Tinubu will so defeat Atiku there with better margin.

For North West, they can tie and the margin won’t be much is any one of them win that zone.

For North East, Atiku will win as usual but the margin won’t be that pronounced because of multiple Northern East heavyweight gunning for 2031.

There is no pathway to victory for Atiku in 2027. That is exactly why the direction of defection is toward APC and not ADC. If Northern leader believe Atiku stand a chance, they would have flocked ADc by now.

Lol. "Tinubu has not lost a single voter since 2023 but he has gained more because politicians are decamping to the APC to run unopposed". Isn't it ironic that all of these permutations always come from those of you in the Southwest viewing things from your limited prisms in Ogbomosho?
