TheNobleProphet:The irony is that the NCNC ministers in the coalition govt were extremely corrupt. As for the officers, Maj Donatus Okafor had been investigated and found culpable of theft. He was stealing money kept raised from selling tickets for to occasions held in the Sergeant Mess n his trust . Donatus also was accused by a senior NCO of taking money from him to help ensure a friend and fellow soldier who had been passed off several years for promotion gets promoted. That didn't happen and this same soldier was the one the blew the whistle on Okafor stealing from the mess tilt. It even gets worse when you consider that Brigadier Mailameri was the one who intervened to block Okafor from being court martialed and sent out of the army in disgrace. Okafor never recovered from the shame of being a known thief and his orders were only obeyed grudgingly by NCOs. It is same Okafor that volunteered to lead the assaination of Brigadier General Mailamaleri at his residence in Ikoyi. The Brigadier had earlier hosted Okafor and his fellow conspirators that day in his home . Okafor's end was befitting for a thief , scoundrel and betrayal that he was as he was broken out of the Benin prison by northern NCOs who had attended a funeral of a relative of their colleague and had heard that Okafor was being held in the prison. Okafor was beaten to stupor and buried alive. The NCOs did not only take revenge for the northern officers killed that night but expressed their pent up anger and total disgust for the disgrace that was Okafor . |

Streetinvestor2:If not for the southwest, you igbos would NEVER have gotten your properties back unlike in the southsouth where your properties were NEVER returned to you! Tinubu will be President till 2031 By GOD'S grace and the north will take over from there! Igbos have become "outcast" in the Nigerian State so your chasing the presidency is more like a "wild goose chase" 👌👌🥱😀 ![]() |

Streetinvestor2:You now see the same north you all vilified and spewed hate on as an ally? The northerners are not stupid and they will never ever agree to a '' SE Presidency ''. As the above , its clear that the only reason you hate this current administration is because it is a Yoruba man that you all hate with passion that is the president ,hence, why you keep referring to it as ''SW President ''. That same '' SW President '' is more acceptable across Nigeria than your own '' SE President ''. |

rummmy:It will NEVER happen! The reverse will surely be the case because they (the igbos) are the "root cause" of all the problems Nigeria is facing today starting from Ironsi. |

TheNobleProphet:so if igbos are Nigerias problems why not carve out igbos to have their own country? We are your problems yet you are griping to stay with us.. what an irony .. I speak as the agent of the most high ...we will never progress unless they apologized to the innocent souls murdered.. |

rummmy:Did anyone ever stop you from leaving? Channel your agitation through your elected officials in the NASS and see if anyone will oppose it. You think crying and demanding for your fake Biafra all over cyberspace will grant you your Biafra? Is NL the NASS? |

rummmy:As a result of the heavy consequence the igbos have to pay for their "evil deeds" towards other ethnic groups in January 1966, they have been successfully subdued right from the re-match that occurred in July 1966 that extended into the civil war! You igbos are reaping the "evil seeds" your kinsmen sowed and that's why you have all become "outcasts" in the Nigerian State after being conquered. |

TheNobleProphet:It goes beyond the coup of Jan 15. While we can not hold all ibos back then for the bloody ethnic cleansing tagged coup, despite the ibo majority celebrating it, all Ibos were actively in support of genoiding ethnic minorities trapped in Biafra and those in the occupied Midwest. The Asagba of Asaba left out the part where his people chose to ally with Ibos to invade and occupy the Midwest. He also had selective amnesia in recounting how his people also joined the IBO invaders in harassing , arresting , torturing and killing non igboid Midwesterners during the occupation by Biafran orcs. The Asagba also deliberately left out the part that most of the people executed on the spot on the direct orders by Murtala were captured Biafran soldiers and their civilian collaborators. The Biafran soldiers had ditched their uniforms and papers instead of surrendering to the Federal forces and had mingled with the populace. Such action automatically invalidates the invocation of the Geneva Convention . POW status only applies when a belligerent or group of belligerents surrender to the opposing end after duly identifying themselves through their uniform and laying down their arms . Once any member of a belligerent party ditches his uniform and papers he automatically is treated as a spy and there is no provision stated on how to treat a spy in the Geneva convention. Even to the Biafran military, their soldiers who ditched their uniforms had absconded from the war front and the punishment for this during war time, is death by firing squad for desertion. Murtala did no wrong. There is this iconic photo of a Vietnamese Colonel executing a North Vietnamese officer . The NVA officer was in civilian clothes when he was captured and executed. It so happen that the NVA had launched an offensive in the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon targeting US military bases in the famous Tet Offensive. When the story broke of the Vietnamese officer executing a '' civilian '' in broad daylight and the pictures splashed on newspapers back in the US, there were widespread condemnation But when clarification was provided with a context that the '' civilian '' was a senior officer who partook in the Tet offensive and had ditched his uniform as he made a retreat, everywhere quieted down. That's what happened in Asaba . How is it possible to gather 800 civilians and they will all stand there and be shot before a crowd? The execution and not massacre was carried on captured Biafra deserters who were lined up and executed before the Asaba crowd that were cooperating with the enemy as as a stark example of what will befall any who continues to support Biafra.

TheNobleProphet:Why do you think so, because it's crystal clear Awolowo was the prime beneficiary and principal of that coup and not in any way an Igbo person. Saying the truth ain't distorting fact. Even IBB collaborated the story that it ain't an igbo coup but you decided not to point out that for the op. |
