Can someone please educate Atiku about democracy and the reach and limits of presidential pardon?

His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has the constitutional right to pardon anybody HE deems fit.

That is how it is done in democracy.

Atiku should desist from raising dust when there is no fight. The baseless antics to seek attention is gradually constituting nuisance.
Is obeying the rule of law by releasing kanu not also democracy or do you want to throw more light on this?

Must you comment about something if you don’t understand what the issue is?

Go and find out what reckless means before embarrassing yourself further with your efforts to defend the indefensible.

I am very sure President Tinubu didn't go through the list before granting majority of them presidential pardon.

Many of the victims families will feel so bad about the action of the president.
Was he not supposed to do a thorough background check before he approved the list?

What is the meaning of the buck stops at his desk huh

You have refused to see the bigger picture. Thats one thing some Nigerians like you refuse to acknowledge... just because you aren't affected doesnt make it right. If someone who murdered your father or mother or siblings in cold blood with no remorse was granted a presidential pardon after doing just 6years ..I'm very sure your comment would have been different .

It won’t be because I am familiar with the law. I have no legal option and would accept faith.

I have seen happen in different countries and very familiar with such so it can’t be a shock to me.

Many here today are hearing it for the first time and why they amazed.

This Dubai fraud would have preferred the President extended pardon to his son in law who ran out of the country over his corruption case. This senseless talks is the reason these losers will remain in opposition for a very long time.
Shame no dey catch una. Tinubu is evil and an unjust person. Evil President.

Why it is called presidential pardon.

Is it in the confinement of the law and constitution? YES /NO

So why is Atiku making it look like a crime?
It’s called freedom of speech. The people who elected the President have freedom of speech and opinion. When they think the President is overusing powers beyond expectations, they can raise alarm and use such against him

Which power was overused here and what section of the law and constitution was violated?

Are you telling me you are seeing such happen in a democracy for the first time?

Do you know how many convicted criminals and fraudsters have gotten pardon under Trump? Trust me, you wouldn’t want to check or know.

The list was not only ratified by the President, the highest body which is the council of state gave their approval.
Is it because cownu was not on the list?

Cownu case is still in court. He has to pay for his stupidity.

On this, Atiku is somewhat right, after seeing the list and the criminal offences of some of the people pardoned, Tinubu goofed. Kidnappers, Murderers, Drug Dealers. HELL NO.

Some of Trump’s pardons have been politically motivated, which means he did them with the support of his base, some which he even promised before getting elected, and which may not impact too much on the general public. He was elected by the majority and he knows this. I can’t say the same for Tinubu who wasn’t elected by the majority

Oh!

So His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) was not elected by the majority and has no base he is appealing to?

Common! You can do better than this!

You said he doesn’t just wake up one morning and pardon? Please give us the total numbers of CONVICTED criminals and fraudsters based on information’s available to you, that has gotten pardon? Lets see of your assertion is true.

He might have gone through. He also has well qualifies technocrats.

He alone and a few others k ow why he pardoned drug dealers, a murderer and kidnappers.

For drugs, sending someone to prison for selling Indian hemp is wrong. Even in US, some cops just look the other way if weed is the drug in question.

Tinubu was not elected by the majority. Why is that up for debate? Which small base is Tinubu appealing to? And Trump’s biggest pardons were politically motivated and he hinted that he may pardon many of them before election, like the insurrectionists, Ross Ulbritcht etc, so what are we talking about?

Especially the victims (family of the deceased husband) of the man/husband killer.

A man killer is on the loose now, courtesy President Tinubu.
