Hamas has released all the surviving hostages from Gaza under a deal with Israel to end the two-year war.

After 737 days in captivity, all 20 captives are no longer under control of the terror group.

The first seven, Gali and Ziv Berman, 28 and 27, Matan Angrest, 22, Alon Ohel, 24, Omri Miran, 47, Eitan Mor, 25, and Guy Gilboa-Dallal, 23, are about to reunited with their families and will be taken to hospital.

The second group of 13 have now been released to the Red Cross and will soon be leaving Gaza.

In the first images released of the hostages, Gali Berman and Mr Ohel were seen standing and speaking to Israeli soldiers inside Gaza.

The hostages’ relatives and friends broke into wild cheers as Israel television channels announced their release. There was no immediate word on their condition.

The remains of 28 dead hostages also must be returned during the exchange which will see 2,000 Palestinian prisoners freed. Israel does not expect all the remains to be returned today.

Donald Trump landed in Israel this morning while the hostage release was still underway. The US president will meet with families of hostages and speak at the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, before travelling to Egypt for a peace summit.

Good day for Israel. What did October 7 actually achieve for Hamas?
There is no such thing as a “Palestine.” Gaza remains one way or another under Israel’s control, thousands of terrorists have been wiped out, Hezbollah is cornered, and Iran is too weak to change the outcome. Hamas has never been in a worse position. Its tunnels, buildings, and terrorist infrastructure are in ruins.

Islamist extremists act without thinking, launching attacks in the name of their religion, But when they face the consequences, they suddenly cry “genocide” to play the victim. Actions have consequences. This should serve as a clear warning to every Islamic terrorist group: if you strike Israel, you will face a devastating response.

A very good move....now we can finally have peace. Nobody is really the winner when there is war and that's the reason why there was jubilation both in Israel and Palestine when this deescalation was announced.
