I’m honestly shocked to read the comments above criticizing such a valuable course. I strongly believe it’s time for Nigeria to revise its university curriculum. As an Environmental Specialist, I can attest to how often companies reach out to me for professional assistance. This field is far more relevant and in demand than many of the popular courses like Business Administration, Political Science, or Sociology that people rush to study. With the growing impact of climate change globally, environmental professionals are in high demand and earning good income

i admire her courage to push on. Cant imagine myself being the only coursemate in a dept level.

Its actually a good and sustainable course. Many people are more comfortable getting lost in the crowd. MI called it crown mentality.

That field (Environmental Sciences)is highly sought-after in Europe, US etc. especially with climate related issues dominating world politics . Sometimes, people overlook some good courses and rush after the popular ones. That is how she may become a hot cake and an expert in that field.

I tell you for a fact, those useless courses locally can earn jobs international. Nigerians may not appreciate the course but it has huge potential with global scale. It is only in Nigeria that environment doesnt matter but abroad it does. If you knows her onions and channel her efforts, she would go places

That brings me to the next thought, as the only student and female in her department, I don't want to believe she entirely worked for it cos of the immense pressure she would have faced. I know this cos I know someone with similar experience. Unfortunately for her, all her lecturers are male and there is this one particular lecturer that will take her from year one to five and in a session, he takes nothing less than 3 to 4 courses out of like 10 to 12 courses she has to undertake. Long story short, las las, aunti gat to transfer to another department cos the man is alway making funny demands of her, that is if he has not even had sexual encounter with her sef. Omo, the girl port o cos it was too much. I encouraged her to go straight to the pro chancellor who is a female to report it but she was to scared. She eventually changed course and who knows, after many abuse.

So back to this female, honestly, it must have been tough and whether she succumbed or not, I congratulate her. I hope she studied the course for real cos it is a good course and not been passed because she satisfied some few desires.

At the end you will get work in PSP ENVIRONMENT CLEANER OFFICE

To those of you mocking that girl make una no worry government go soon give her a fine job

Even me as Electrical/Electronic Engineering graduate since 2009 never see better work for my field.

Chai.... You are not ready to start from small position or not ready to leave your comfort zone and possible because you graduate with poor grade from your field. it is in impossible with 2-1 and above with this your course and still struggle if you are smart o. Your story is reflecting a problem with you and not with Nigeria.

Apart from that, the biggest threat to the world right now is climate change. Considering how poorly we have managed resources in the last 150 years, all the bush fires, flooding across 9ja, deforestation, 9ja Delta pollution and all that, people are still ignorant of the mess we are in. She should be getting a top job.

She will find it easier to secure foreign scholarships even.

Very correct, most people didn't know the meaning of being a graduate and the reality of life. My mate studied Yoruba and working in bank since graduation, now in banking senior management team, is he teaching them yoruba now?

No motivation from colleagues
No Higi haga in class with mates
No toast from opposite sex who are course mates.
No flavours!
