What is happening?

I like people who are realistic unlike some people here calling themselves righteousness even when their hearts are as dark as charcoal.

Jesus said "except your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the Pharisees you cannot enter the kingdom of God."
In other words, the best of man's righteousness is not sufficient, because the pharisees were people who devoted their lives to strict adherence to the law for righteousness, so if anyone could attain the required righteousness by works, it would have been the pharisees, yet their righteousness was not enough. In essence, Jesus was only helping people to understand that man's righteousness that he attains from keeping the law and doing good works cannot be enough, and that the only righteousness that can get you into the kingdom of God is the righteousness of God Himself. This is why Jesus said people should seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness. He did not say people should seek their own righteousness but that they should seek God's righteousness. It is only God's perfect righteousness can get us into Heaven. And Paul writes how this righteousness is received by faith in Christ apart from works in his epistles.

I pray that somehow Donald Trump will get to know this, and rest in what Christ has done for him. At least he knows he cannot achieve heaven by his good works despite the many good works he has done, but he also have to receive/acknowledge the gift of righteousness which is given by faith in Christ alone.
