TINUBU'S STRANGE, SELECTIVE AND NEPOTIC AMNESTY TO Major Suleiman Alabi Akubo.

BACKGROUND:

1. Between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2006, eight military personnel, gained continued illegal access to the Nigeria Army Armoury and carried away various military weapons numbering 7000 while serving at Jaji military base in Kaduna, Kaduna state.

2. The following are the accused( then) military personnel:

A. Major Alabi Suleiman Akubo ( leader of the syndicate)

B. Sergeant Matthias Peters NO.79NA/966

C. Lance Corporal Alexander Davou (97/NA/45/4618),

D. Lance Corporal Moses Nwaigwe NO. 97/NA/45/6565

E. Lance Corporal Nnamdi Anene NO. 02N/52/5191

F. Caleb Bawa NO 96/NA/43/8839

G. Corporals Kola David NO. 79NA2834

H. Mohammed Aliyu NO. 79NA/32008

3. They all appeared before a Military court martial chaired by Brig General Bala Usara and gave their individual testimonies.

4. At the end of the trial they were convicted and sentenced to various sentences including life imprisonment for :

*Criminal conspiracy
*Criminal breach of trust
*Illegal dealings in firearms
*Criminal aiding of the enemy
*Unlawfully furnishing the Niger with stolen arms

5. Shockingly but not altogether surprising, the leader of the burglary of the Military Armoury and theft of the military weapons MAJOR ALABI SULEIMAN AKUBO was among those perdoned by Tinubu in the 2025 Amnesty jamboree.

6. Many natural and genuine questions have surely arisen out of the said release. Questions such as:

A. What of the remaining 7 military personnel that were convicted along with him? Nothing is said about them. Why were they not pardoned or forgiven or granted amnesty or clemency ? Given the fact that they were all sentenced to life imprisonment?

B. Why would the buyer of the stolen military weapons sunny okar still be facing trial and imprisonment given the fact that they are all joint criminals?.

C. 7000 military weapons in the hands of MENDS were not for animals hunting but for various crimes. How will the families of the victims of those weapons feel with the Amnesty granted to the suppliers of the weapons used in killing of their relatives and destruction of their means of lively hood?

D. If Major Alabi suleiman is now a freeman, Dokubo Asari is a friend to the Government, Tompolo a multi billion Naira pipeline security contractor, Gani Adams a traditional title holder, dining and winning with the high cream class, and such other characters under the comfort of government.........

E. Then what reasons are there anymore to continue the detention and prosecution of MANI NNAMDI KANU and TUKUR MAMU ?

F. Assuming without conceding that TUKUR MAMU and MAZI KANU are guilty as charged, are their offenses more heinous than those of Major Alabi Suleiman ? And the answer is No. If so why make tasty fish soap with Alabi's case and bitter leave fowl minced meat with theirs ?

G. Why would you be keeping all Armed robbery suspects & convicts in prisons whose offences are of lesser National security implications when compared with the offences committed by Major Alabi Suleiman & co?

7. This case is one more instance that continues to paint Tinubu as tribalistic with too much Nepotic INCLINATION.

8. If per adventure next time around military personnel from another tribe hazard and took risk to buggle a military Armoury, steal as much as they can of military weapons, sale same to ISWAP, ISIS, BOKI HARAM, or MEND again, they might have behind their naive thinking that if arrested and court martialed, one day a president of Nigeria from their Tribe will grant them Amnesty. Thus Tinubu nurtures a dangerous mindset and sets an even more dangerous precedent.

9. With this Avoidable blunder it will not come to many Nigerians as a surprise if one day soon the Name of Major Alabi Suleiman granted National honour or even appointed to an exalted office in Nigeria. It has happened before.

While I disagree completely with the condemnable presidential amnesty granted to criminals and murderers, it is very wrong to try and paint the presidential gesture in ethnic clothing. 90% of the criminal drug dealers on the amnesty list are Ibos from the South east.

Well said.

This is the problem with Nigerians, they dislike sticking to the point in any argument.

A lot of people are upset with the pardons for very solid reasons but someone silly must come from somewhere and paint it with ethnic brush so they can continue propagating their vendetta.

What they seem to miss is when they do this is they will make a significant amount of people become defensive, and forget why they should be condemning it in the first place.

💯 accurate. We always leave the real issues to chase shadows and that’s why we are where we are today.

90% is a fallacy. The igbo names on that list are even less than 20%.You can go through it

Anyway this is your subtle way of accepting that you just gave out criminally fake information...thank God your lies has been bursted, you didn't succeed in deceiving the unsuspecting nairalanders.
Next time dont come to public forum and start peddling falsehood, thinking that others are dumb and dont have access to information!

G. Corporals Kola David NO. 79NA2834
Is he also not a Yoruba person too?
Most of those names are mostly given to the President to approve.Do Presidents have the time to go through almost 140 names and their offences?
Those in charge of vetting the names were the perpetrators of whatever accusation one wants to heap on anybody.
This will teach the President a lesson if he was not aware.
