Wike has always been doing this even right when he was a governor. He'll never build Teacher's Quarters or Civil servants Quarters; only Judge's Quarters. Most of these Judges can't even exhaust their monthly salary and allowances. This is tantamount to bribery; Judges with good conscience ought to reject this Greek gift! |

davades:That he and tinubu are going to bribe the judges with houses so that they can always scratch their back when called upon. He also said some judges are squatting ![]() Oh God of Heaven, arise and give these people Nebuchadnezzar treatment |

This is a leadership that'll rather take care of a few and watch majority suffer as far as it's to their advantage. Which law says a judge can't or shouldn't live in a rented house if that's what they can afford? Stop using our money to prepare for 2027! Stop bribing judges! Stop buying their conscience! |

Where is it in the list of emoluments for public officers that they get free houses from govt after service? This is simply bribery and we all know it This same administration increased judges' salaries by over 500% and is now making them statutory house owners courtesy of our common patrimony This kind of reckless spending can only exist in a country like Nigeria |

“We cannot afford to continue to see judges living in rented houses, sometimes squatting with relatives. By the end of President Tinubu’s first tenure, no judge of the FCT High Court will be living in rented quarters,” Wike declared. He said the administration will deliver 10 duplexes each for the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, and 20 for the FCT High Court. The minister stressed that the houses would not revert to government ownership upon the retirement of the beneficiaries. “This is a policy of Mr President. When judges retire, they must go home with their houses. Nobody will reclaim them. That is the true position,” he said. Wike also revealed that the digitization of the FCT High Court has been provided for in the 2025 budget, with immediate implementation to follow. Look at this one, just because you and your just graduated child studied law. You are looking for a way to give your chikd another opportunity to own a house. Liar ! |

What about Magistrates/Lower court judges? Why is their welfare not a priority when they are the first judicial officers who handle even more terrible cases and are closer to the grassroots. Minister Wike you cannot give priority to Superior court judges alone. It is unfair. It is now time to unify the pay structure of Magistrates nationwide and improve it handsomely. Provide Vehicles for them and allowances to cater for their needs and those of their families same way it is done for Judges. Judges and Magistrates are all lawyers first and foremost and are doing the same jobs. This is an appeal and also a demand. Thank you. |
