This is quite pathetic... What are they trying to achieve by these acts of demolition?
Going from area to area, demolishing properties that you have collected monies for CofO, and other levies.
Festac is owned by FHA. If there was any demolition there, it would have been done by FHA and not LASG. Oga ICAN member of 1998 set, you should know basic things like this.

Civil war civil war that's what drops from you people's lips everytime
The major parties that fought that war don't demolish properties willy nilly and then issue silly statements abdicating responsibility
Btw I'm still looking for the "threats" or "chest beating" Emenike or any nwa Igbo issued according to you grin
As they say "IGNORANCE IS BLISS" grin grin

It's in the DNA. You won't see simply because you can't! Who has refused to let go of the memories of the civil-war? You know the answer. Folks who parade victim-mentality!!!

Yea, there's no pretence and denial about the devilish things some jihadists in the name of bandits are doing all over the country. No pretence that Christians in some parts of the country are targeted for extermination by some faceless individuals. It's you and your people that are denying everything for whatever reason.
You are as misconceived as they come! I emphatically state that in Nigeria Christians are persecuted and I deprecate such conduct with every fibre of my being. Let's stay focussed on the issue at hand. Engage Amnesty International to expose folks allegedly illegally demolishing Ndigbo property in Lagos.

Again, your reasoning is embarrassingly flawed. If the permits are genuinely issued by the government but not ought to have been approved in the first place, the best recourse for the government is to demolish peoples hard earned property and not to sanction the approving officers who also happen to be agents of the same demolishing government?. This is not good for the government, the country and the Southwest people. Igbos have an “Ofor n’ogwu” affirmation that asserts that anyone who says a thing or an action that’s inherently bad is good, may that thing happen to them. Iseee.

It’s an Igbo man today, it could be you/your people tomorrow. Also, don’t forget. If this becomes the norm, your tribesmen could use the same tools against you tomorrow. Don’t cry or become suicidal when it happens.

zoedew:
Wow! How you reason is what exactly is shocking!! You commit illegality and you do not expect to be called to question by the Law! Dealing with errant government officials who sold building permits is quite a different matter which Ndigbo will do well to pursue and unmask and seek the prosecution of the bad eggs. That is the best way to go.

Festa is not LASG

Shun unwarranted accusations

Get proper permits, short cuts leads to heartbreak

Is Lagos the only state in the countryhuh? Something sinister is going on...

There are demolition in Abia,Anambra,Kano e.t.c

Why the focus in Lagoshuh?

Oga Sanwo Olu wake up, your predecessors were tougher, the gaslighting is too much

One ignorant up there is saying Lagos hold the land, which permit was issued? Was it not Federal? I just paid 150k to someone to do a search at ikeja. Do the right thing to avoid story that touch

Yoruba artist "hammered" and buys fancy Lagos property but Igbo artist "hammered" and developed a very lucrative estate in Abuja.

This is really bad, it means anybody can hire a bulldozer and demolish any structure he has issues with and claim it was the Lagos State government and the state Govt will deny responsibility and won't go after the perpetrators using its name to commit illegality, it then implies that LASG is behind their actions but hiding under culpable deniability.
This is a low point for Lagos state
The lagos govt is just pretending there's absolutely no way any group of people can be that powerful and be going around to illegally demolish the properties of lagos residents without getting the backing of the lagos state govt.

Festac Land belongs to the Lagos State Government

The Buildings on them belong to the the FG

The Sokoto Jihad coveted Lagos, the king of Dahomey coveted Lagos, Azikiwe coveted Lagos, Ojukwu Coveted Lagos, it was Lagos Ipob attacked during Endsars,

They are eyeballing Lagos again

When you see certain people trying to rewrite the History of Lagos daily
including with Art exhibition and their unrecognised Traditional Rulers you ought to
Know what’s up and defend your homeland and heritage

Emenike will do well to stop threatening an elected public officer in the person of the LASG Governor. You can lay a complaint without threats. You could get arrested for threatening people.
Chinua Achebe a prominent Igbo and a global literary icon had this to say about The Igbo, his kith and kin -"There is no doubt at all that there is a strand in contemporary Igbo behaviour that can offend; by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness."
The Igbo will do well to not ignite ethnic tensions that generate ill wind that blows no one no good like it happened back then in Zaria and the North generally in the late ‘60s resulting in the Civil War that broke the Igbo. It would appear that the Igbo learnt nothing from the Civil War no thanks to Obasanjo who cancelled the study of History in Nigerian schools and robbed the younger generation of the opportunity to study the civil war. It is not unknown that the Igbo contravene building codes with impunity and are adept at buying up building approvals as they believe money can do all things such as building on waterways- go to Festac town and see what they have turned the place into! So long as they continue in their antisocial and unlawful ways will the LASG demolish their property! Chest beating, playing the victim card and displaying victim mentality has not and will not help the Igbo! Be wise!
It will happen to you. And these words of yours will haunt your silence.

Victim mentality for calling out injustice?
Wait till you see the real world where little of this brings massive repercussions 😄😄😄

ood morning, my people.
Let’s call a spade a spade — when something is wrong, it’s wrong. The way the government handles demolitions, both at the federal and state levels, is totally unfair.

Look around — Oworonshoki was demolished, Lagos Island market gone, GSM Plaza on Lagos Island gone, Jankara demolished, Alaba Rago gone, parts of Lekki Jakande gone — many places have been wiped out.

The sad part is that, most of the time, government officials don’t engage in proper dialogue with the property owners or the residents before carrying out these operations. Even along Lekki to Epe, some areas are already marked and might face demolition by 2026 or 2027.
Pls hope you can remember 15/17 years back prile Alaba sure

You and I know that such matters cannot be resolved by Amnesty international. As far as Nigeria is concerned, the government of the day will and can always fabricate reasons to justify the demolition.

Am with you on this matter. Ndigbo must keep mounting international pressure. No country likes bad press. See the Christianity persecution matter. The President denies it but the world has come to see that it is true. Now, the folks committing the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria and the Federal Government that looks the other way are on the defensive. No matter how small that is some gain for the persecuted church in Nigeria. Let Ndigbo adopt that strategy also. Now, I can thank you for a constructive engagement. You have ceased the insult, abuse and disrespect most comments hold.

Years ago, a lady whose in-laws live in the US bought a property for N80 million near VGC. Today, that house has been demolished because the state government authorities claim it was built on the carnal.

What I don't understand is people's obsession with Lagos State. Demolitions are going on everywhere, but one foolish person who will cry tomorrow is still developing his property or planning to buy.

Let them keep deceiving themselves. I dey my East, I no get any issues. Even on the so-called sit-at-home days nobody disturbs anybody. People still go out and do business but one foolish igbo man will be disturbing himself building a house in Lagos.
2 years ago I sold my house in Lagos and used the proceeds to build another one in Owerri. I was charging 800k rent in the Lagos one. I'm charging 700k for the Owerri one and I have more peace of mind plus I have fewer levies to pay on the house here in Owerri.

Let them keep demolishing their houses there until they have sense
