| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 8:55pm On Oct 16, 2025 |
lilachiever:I mean your battery and all your solar usage; how do you guys share it with the landlord. Since you said the landlord connected the solar all by himself and asked you to pay for connection fee or so. |

Good evening all, I just got a brand new 3.2kva MUST hybrid inverter and I would like to know the size of solar panels to pair with with as well as the numbers?.... I will be expecting your professional inputs.... Thanks

Bankyshinani:You'd be best served with six ~585w Jinko panels connected in 3S2P. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:19am On Oct 17, 2025 |
lilachiever:Already, I understood what He meant the first time he said the landLord paid for them. More like the Landlord bought and paid for only the Solar panels. That way, except something goes wrong with the Solar panels, there would never be a need to climb the roof or (un)install any solar panel even if said apartment gets rented out to 100 different tenants. in other words, when any tenant comes in, they either Pay to use said Solar panel, or they don't and while Packing, there's no need to climb the roof because the SOlar panels don't belong to them. If any tenant want to use Solar, they must use that one that's installed by the LandLord - they just need buy their own Inverter, battery, and other things EXCEPT Solar panels as it's already provided by the landLord. Look at it like a serviced apartment; just that now, it's just the Soolar panels. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:23am On Oct 17, 2025 |
BigDickProblems:LandLord ain't sharing anything with Him. The landLord only bought and paid for the Solar panels alone to discourage / reduce need for tenants to have reasons to want to do anything on his roof. That's a smart move. But the tenant s till got to buy his own inverter, battery, etc. Simply put, those Solar panels, are property of the landLord leased to whoEver rents that apartment for the duration of their rentage. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:24am On Oct 17, 2025 |
micxwell:then it's kinda okay. Just try negotiate small make you see if e go reduce something small BUT not enough to affect the work. |

bassdow:You’re on point. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by lilachiever(m): 10:43am On Oct 17, 2025 |
BigDickProblems:Bassdow explained it. Each apartment has separate panels provided by landlord. Tenant to sort out inverter and battery individually. |

micxwell:This installation fee is for what exactly? The load wire is from where to where? What type of battery are u using? Is it an mcb or mccb he is getting? Is there an actual need for a battery breaker esp if ur battery already comes with one? What does he want to do with a 125amp DC breaker? Wud e mind if u buy ur breakers and spds urself and he just comes to do his installation as that wud be cheaper for you? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:23pm On Oct 17, 2025 |
Drgreatone:while we awaits @micxwell response, let me chip in a couple of things. Even if a battery already comes with a breaker, I still believe it's wise to have an independent one. What happens when they upgrade or replace said battery and the new one doesn't come with one. Yea if the client is knowledgeAble in that field, no problem BUT that might not often be the case. Also, I rather have idea of cost of certain things, than just buy myself AND in cases when I do buy them myself, I do my best to let the person (workMan) know that I got a friend or inLaw or whatEver whom I patronised. That way, there's no bad blood. Anothher is, except the customer knows how to spot guniune ones, it's better He / She letts the workMan do the buyings. As usual, just pray they don't overChop you or at least got your interest at heart. We can't know it all hence no matter how vigilannt we might try, e get place wey they must chop us because, our field can't be everything. Don't forget, the main idea is maintaining good relations (not having bad blood) with the person because no matter what, we might be willing to help for FREE by way of information BUT we ain't as close to said customer as that workMan. Mind you, e get lots of people (customers) wey no fit tell plier and spanner apart |

bassdow:At end of the day, what also matters is ensuring they use whatEver they bought, and doesn't just BUY but leave with them. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kristien4(m): 5:02pm On Oct 17, 2025 |
Installer mistakenly punctured a whole underneath a monofacial panel with a 5mm drill bit. It cut the underneath plastic/black matter, but did not crack or puncture glass. Is the still good to go? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by justasitis: 5:12pm On Oct 17, 2025 |
Tell the installer to read the punctured panel with a multimeter and compare the reading with the other panels. That will tell you the condition of the punctured panel, then you can apply a 4-minute gum to cover the punctured hole if the meter reading is the same with the remaining panels.. kristien4: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kristien4(m): 6:18pm On Oct 17, 2025 |

Still active

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by justasitis: 9:44pm On Oct 17, 2025 |
It’s still ok, the voltage difference is negligible since the panels will be connected in series. And to ensure that the hole won’t expand further, you need to apply a suitable glue to cover the hole. kristien4: |

Dam5reey:Bro how can I get this board you usually set up your inverter on. The wall of my house is weak. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by BangaRice: 9:41am On Oct 18, 2025 |
Anyone in the house has this module fo sale? It is a 4S module for indicating 4 series lithium ion battery level.

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by micxwell(m): 9:47am On Oct 18, 2025 |
Drgreatone:Thanks bro for asking this important question. 1. The installation fee covers the solar panel installation and other in-house wiring, breakers, surge protectors, etc. 2. For the load wire, I just got home yesterday and took my measurements. I won’t be needing more than 20 yards. From my main junction box area (starting from the middle of the wall) to the top of the artwork rail (middle of the wall) at the spot where I plan to mount the inverter and battery, I measured 5.5 meters with a tape. Accounting for kinks and other excesses, I believe 10 yards should do ×2; that’s 20 yards. Maybe I should get 25 yards to avoid any blame game. 3. The battery is LVTOPSUN, 51.2V 100Ah, 5kWh. As for whether it’s MCB or MCCB, I’m not sure yet. 4. Regarding the 125A DC breaker, I’ll have to ask him about that too. Are you saying it’s too much or not necessary? The grid supply is terrible here, so I don’t plan to connect the inverter to the grid at all. I bought the battery, inverter, solar PV cables, and panels myself. I’m yet to receive the solar panels........Fouani wahala. I’ll definitely review the quote with him again and probably bring it down to below ₦300k. |

micxwell:You evven get idea pass wetin some of us think. Another thing you should note is, if the total yards required, is close to (half or more than half of) a bundle, it's often cheaper getting a full bundle, than buying in yards. At end of the day, what matters is, ensuring the workMan buys all he told you He's buying, and doesn't leave with anything. I don buy wire clip wey I ended up not opening at all due to adjustments that were made later; had to leave it with the customer. Also before reducing certain things, try to relate with your workMan to understand why it's 50-yards and not 25-yarrds or more or less. |
