Controversy has continued to trail the inclusion of some names, with anti-graft and security agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, reportedly moving to halt the release of some individuals on the list If you are Nigerian you will know how these things work. All these excuses are damage control measures to douse the tension this pardon has created. |

Flipflops. This should have been done before presenting them to the council of state for approval. Fagbemi should spare us all these explanations and admit that he failed the system. I hope the review is properly done and those criminals and drugees are removed from that list. How do you justify the release of a kidnaper, a drug dealer and a murderer. So shameful. I also believe the NSA should investigate how some of those names made the list, those found to have abused the system should be prosecuted. |

Tinubu is just an arrogant failure. He thinks Nigeria is Lagos where he wakes up and do anything and any how he likes. Just look at the National embarrassment he caused, his confused urchins will be here talking nonesense. Anybody granted pardon should just JAPA ASAP before Tinubu changes his mind |

slyzy:Thats how it works......you bribe the officials from the correctional to the judiciary,to the ministry of internal affairs and the committee assigned the task......it's what it is,Nigeria is rotten to the bottom, tinubu doesn't know 99% of those on that list,he only signs and approves. |

He had better drop those names or we drop him. What a disservice to all our security agencies, who sacrifice their lives confronting these criminals. For you to get a pardon. First you should have spent half of your sentence. Cases like homicide, you should have at least spent 10 years in prison & obtain a letter from the deceased family approving the pardon. Pardon my foot... |

Maryam Sanda's case will definitely undermine confidence in the justice system. Which one is "she has two children who would become orphans"? Is that not a thought she should have considered herself? Is the Federal Govt telling women to go on killing spree, that is okay to kill their husbands once they have children, you'd walk free? Even if it was Bilyaminu's own father that killed him, he'd be made to face justice too. The fact that he has forgiven her is utter bullocks and inconsequential. That Baba is a politician, he may have concluded on a "deal" with Sanda's father. Maryam Sanda should be an example on what anger can do to a person and a reminder on the sanctity of human life. Her case will definitely undermine confidence in the justice system. |

Tochi3:There is absolutely nothing wrong if a government rescinds a decision that is hitherto unpopular......it takes a man to make a mistake and own up to it......if the govt is willing to review the clemency imbroglio,it should be welcomed and encouraged.....we need not okay politics with everything......isreal had to apologize for killing hamas members on qatari soil and heavens did not fall but you are so quick to lampoon your own to make us all look like we are the worst country on earth. |

jchioma:There is absolutely nothing wrong if the govt seeks to review it's action..... isn't that what democracy should be about? the people should speak and the govt should listen...... however if I were tinubu,I did rather let this pass but as a face saving counter measure, set up a powerful judicial commission to carry out wholesome prison decongestion exercise that must be seen as very effective.....this way he will be able to balance up this dysfunctional policy as there are so many innocent, indigent inmates who needs support.....this would be a huge representation of his renewed hope matra.....also some people in govt must take the stick for their ineptness. |

| Re: Under Pressure: Tinubu May Drop Controversial Names From Pardon List by DIVINEEVIDENCE: 6:18am On Oct 17, 2025 |
To say the least, this is disgraceful. Government at the highest level should think things through before making decisions. If the attorney general, the entire council of state and the president could okay a simple list of names without serious scrutiny and considerations, imagine how much of our lives they must have signed away in MoUs, loan conditions and other agreements? Some of you have not yet understood the damage you have caused by tribalising and politicizing sacred offices. Don't worry. Harmattan is coming.

Imagine the excuse ( low level officers smuggled in the names). And those officers don’t have names and why are they not arrested for investigation to identify who they are working for ? The freedom of this country is near. The old oligarch generation era will soon be over. This era belongs to the Genzs who question a lot unlike your dummy, passive generation brainwashed with religion gibberish and respect for elderly senseless narratives. The Genzs have no need to be in power to take charge of their futures. Many are already into remote jobs outside of the country you destroyed. They have much power because their time is build around technology that your lost generation of oligarch has zero understanding of. Enjoy your nepotism and corruption filled hateful agenda while it last. Useless leaders. Thinking they are speaking to animals. |
