Great men who changed the course of their country in history used it, Lenin of Soviet Union, Mao of China, America, UK, all nations that want to be great, indoctrines it's kids from childbirth...rather than religious education being push forward, push forward a syllabus on patriotism and civic duty...this is why nations make their youths do military service at their youth, and use mass media to push forward the nation's greatness etc, the way UK uses BBC for instance to push narratives that promotes the country.

Nigerian government should stop sponsoring religious activisties, rather sponsor education on patriotism and civic duty, stop sharing textbooks on religious stories, rather indoctrinate the kids on the greatness of our ancestry our strength and abilities, this is how to build national cohesion, this is how to groom loyal patriotic citizens. As it is, all our kids are being indoctrinated on is in religion, which really has no real benefits for the society, but only leads to religious extremism and dividing of the people, and make the people passive and docile. Let us build Nigeria, let us start indoctrinating our kids to love their nation, be patriotic to their nation, more than any religion or group. This is the way to go.

Not when the state leaders or actors are despicable criminals and bad examples to the younger generations. When a country have good accountable and responsible, patroitism and nationalism are spontaneous not coerced.

It's only possible if we elect a same president that is mildly corrupt and wants to bring change. Now this one we have currently.

Because the corruption even touches kids. That's why kids passing through Nigerian airport knows the officials always beg. One even forcefully collected the last 50 dollars of a 12 years old child even when she told the woman she was hungry and that money was for her meal.
