Yes, I agree with you, it is not physical, even though we have the fruits of the spirit that everyone can see or observe. That's why you don't know if the woman was baptized in the Spirit or not. So just as you don't have any evidence of water baptism, you have none of her being born of the Spirit. Same thing for the thief on the cross.

So you would rather argue on the grey areas (the things you don't know). You don't know if the thief or the woman was baptized or if they received the Holy Ghost or not.
But you refuse to believe the black and white (the very clear truths). Jesus Christ clearly said that you can't enter His kingdom without baptism. No argument here.
Do you see your problem? You argue over things you don't know instead of accepting what you know.
What about the thief that was crucified? How would you defend that...except you want to tell me that you can baptized the dead

For by grace you have been saved through faith… not of works.... Ephesians 2:8–9
That's why I asked is baptism a prerequisite for making heaven? Who baptised the criminal on the cross?
If you are saved through grace according to your understanding of that verse, then you don't need to be born of the Spirit to be saved, grace with just do it all for you. Secondly, you make Jesus Christ a liar because He said that baptism is a prerequisite for making heaven. Should we believe Jesus Christ or do we believe you?

In other cases, people have died from medical emergencies shortly after a baptism, such as a man in Birmingham, UK, in 2023.
JESUS once told one of his disciples when he protested: "... Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me."

You have nothing to lose if you allow Jesus wash you, but you will lose everything if Jesus wash you not.

Don’t allow Theology or organized religion to baptize you.
Baptism is in the name of Jesus and not the titles of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Be baptized in the name of Jesus and not the title of (father, son and Holy Spirit)
Matthew 28:19 go and baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Father is a title not name
Son is a title not a name
Holy Spirit is a title not a name

Jesus is the name of the father JOHN 5:43
Holy Spirits name is Jesus JOHN 14:23.

Baptism formula
Act 2:38
Act 10:48

Those that repeat the commission in Matthew 19:28 without mentioning the name of Jesus are the candidate of hell
Brother the Spirit of God does not induce confusion. You see, Matthew was inspired that baptism should be done in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. And in Acts the apostles baptized in the name of Jesus. Both are correct because even John the Baptist did not baptize Jesus in the name of Jesus Christ.
The same Spirit which inspired Matthew to write in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost is the same Spirit which inspired the apostles in the book of Acts to baptize in the name of Jesus Christ

Both are correct brother!

after writing all this, especially being baptized into Moses do now see that water baptism is baptism unto John

Jesus didn't baptize anyone with water but with the Holy Spirit, the living water
Did Jesus not made water baptism mandatory when he said, "... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5).

A few things here.
Let's first check the bible to know if baptism is a prerequisite.
John 3:5"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Mark 16:16, He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved
So, you lied; it is clearly a prerequisite.

Now over to the thief. How do you know he was never baptized? I know many kids who were baptized but grew up to be bad. In the gospel of Jesus Christ, we don't discover the truth by guesswork. You don't know if the thief was baptized or not, so stick to what you know.
I hope I have answered your questions.

Now to my own question. Please, how do you know that the thief was born of the spirit and received the Holy Ghost?

Stop sharing knowledge about what something you are less knowledgeable about.

Baptism has not spiritual significance in anyway. It is a ritual done in the old days to show submission to a school of taught (What you call admission today). It is usually done by teachers who are accepting new students who wants to learn in the line of their master teacher. This is why John the Baptist baptised. This is why Jesus was baptised because he submited to John's school.

Fast forward to today, Baptism is not longer needed because of way of schooling and learning has changed. We now have admission instead of baptism.

How would you think the creator of the Universe (think of the stars and the far planets beyond us) would care about how some person in a tiny dot called Earth should immerse themself in water before he is one with them? It is the hight of foolishness and delusion.
So Jesus lied when he said, "... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God?"

Was the thief beside Jesus on the cross born of water

The water in that context refer to spiritual cleansing
Brother how did you know the thief wasn't baptized at some time before his death on the cross?

At the time John the Baptist began to baptize, Scripture says:
Mark 1:4-5
[4]John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
[5]And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

Notice that text says, "And there went out unto him (John) all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem and we're all baptized..."

How did you know that their was not among those who were baptized of John?

The word of God is taught line upon line and precept upon precept.

I'm a Catholic but I can't write what you just posted because Catholic denomination is a member of the body of Christ and not the whole body.

In Ephesians chapter one, when Paul was inspired to write that God has made Jesus the head over all things to the church, there was no perenthetic emphasis that says the church being referred to was Catholic denomination.

Every one in the body of Christ is the church whether Catholic, Anglican, Pentacostal, Methodist... etc. We are all member of Christ.

Lk 7 : 48 -

48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

Brother the word "saved" in that text imply the idea of healed, whole, preserve. JESUS wasn't saying that woman have salvation because Christ has not died and offer his blood as atonement for the sins of all men. So Jesus couldn't be referring to salvation in that text

50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

ocnovakmichael:
Baptism from the Greek word baptizo, meaning "to dip" or "to immerse." In Christianity baptism is the immersion of a believer in Christ in water: signifying the identification of the believer with the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the head of the church.

The second verse of the sixth chapter in the book of Hebrews, baptism(s) is referred to as one of the first principles of the doctrine of Christ. At baptism something miraculous happens: the one being baptized dies and resurrect in the spirit with Christ Jesus.

In scriptures, the revelation of baptism was a principle God used to usher in both men and nation into destiny. Baptism was revealed to Moses, Elijah, and John the Baptist; and was prophesied of the Christ. These four are what I will describe as the gate keepers: because each of them opened a new era, so to speak, in the realms of the Spirit. This was why the priests and Levites, whose responsibility is to offer up sacrifices unto God on the behalf of the children of Israel, asked John, "... Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet (Moses)" (John 1:25)?

In the book of first Corinthians, Paul in his epistle says, the children of Israel were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea: symbolizing the baptism by water and of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2
[1]Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
[2]And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

You see, in order to bring the children of Israel into the promise land, God had to prepare and sanctify them through baptism in the cloud and in the sea.

Also, the prophet Elisha, when he was about to step into the office of the prophet after the order of his master Elijah, he was led through the rudiments of baptism in Jordans River; and afterwards, Elisha received a double portion of the spirit of Elijah.

2 Kings 2:6-8
[6]And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
[7]And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
[8]And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

Notice as the children of Israel were baptized unto Moses after they passed through dry land after the River was parted, so Elisha was baptized unto Elijah when they both passed through dry land on Jordan's River after it was parted.

John the Baptist understood by books and by the revelation of the Spirit that for the Christ to come, men must be baptized to sanctify, prepare and to make straight path for the coming Messiah. This was why John preached repentance and baptism. And when asked of his testimony he referenced the prophecy of Isaiah: "... I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord..." (Isaiah 40:3-4).

Now there's a scriptural foundation I want to emphasize on why many who are yet to be baptized should do so; and those who were baptized as infants, particularly Catholics and others, should perhaps rebaptize in adulthood.
To many what I'm about to teach might sound absurd but meditate on it in the light of scriptures and understand.

What am I getting to? You see, the Lord Jesus before his ascension into heaven said to his disciples, "... Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:15-16).

Did you notice in that text that Jesus said, "... He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved?" This statement implies that the believer will be baptized based on his faith and convictions in the gospel of Christ which was preached to him. Consider for example, Philip baptized the Ethiopian eunuch based on his belief in the scripture about Christ.

Acts 8:11,26-38
[11]And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
[26]And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
[27]And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

[28]Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
[29]Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
[30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
[32]The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
[38]And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Notice Philip got a testimony of the eunuch's belief in Christ before baptizing him.

This is why I said Catholics who were baptized as infants should perhaps rebaptize in adulthood because as infants their parents or guardians professed faith on their behalf before they were baptized. As infants, they had no conviction nor professed faith in Christ of their own before being baptized.
I was born into a Catholic family and I'm still a Catholic, but when I came into adulthood I had to rebaptize because by my own convictions and faith in Christ Jesus not of my parents. Jesus said, "... He (that is, the individual) that believeth and is baptized..." He that will be baptized must do the believing himself and not someone else doing the believing on his behalf.

In the final analysis, the children of Israel were baptized unto Moses and that opens the door into their promise land; Elisha was baptized unto Elijah and that opens the door for him to step into the office of the prophet; John the Baptist baptized many and it opens the way for the Messiah to come, the Lord Jesus was baptized and the heaven over him was opened, the Ethiopian eunuch was baptized and that opens Africa to the gospel of Christ, the disciples were baptized on the day of Pentecost and it opens the world to the gospel of Christ.

I'm confident that when you, the reader, get baptized, the heaven over you will open up.

Do not hoard knowledge, propagate it!

The hardship, the Bad Leadership, what's the impact of baptism ?
I know you're wondering, after all the baptism by Christians, Nigeria and the people therein are getting worse by the day. I quite understand you brother. But truth be told, God is not the god of this world. He's not running the system of this world, the devil is. Though you're baptized into Christ, but the truth remains that human action are influenced by metaphysical forces. Scripture says, "... The way of a man is not in himself. It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps..." (Jeremiah 10:23). And in another place Scripture says, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" (Romans 6:16).

Put somewhat different, the action of a man are influenced by spirits, and he can yield himself to the Spirit of God or to the Spirit of the devil. Unfortunately, many, though Christians, at times yield to the god of this world to act out their fleshy desires which is contrary to the Spirit of God. This is why things are getting worse by the day: because we don't yield to the leading of the Spirit of God.

People are getting baptized and things are the way they are, now imagine if there's no iota of the nature of God in man. The world would have been like hell.

In the final analysis, get baptized, do your best and work out your own salvation.

They are about six "Excepts" that Christ used. One of them is Baptism.
Except a man is born of water and the Holy spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. There is nothing else do argue or defend or interpret. It is as it is!!! Period.

What baptism does is to take you from "Adam" into "Christ". It is a rebirth into Christ. It is an act of faith by those who believe. Which is why the Bible says: they that are in Christ Jesus, old things have pass away and all things have become new. Meaning, you have detached yourself from Adam sin and began anew in Christ.

The thief at the right hand was baptized by blood (because he believed, but had no opportunity to be baptized with water, since he was going to die, thus he paid the price with his blood) By the way, there is baptism by water, by desire and even by blood.

The woman that Christ said: go your sins are forgiven had her sins cleans, but she still had to be baptized to be free from that of Adam.

For sin entered into the world through one man, Adam. Every other person inherited that sin of Adam (Except Christ and His Mother).

To be free from that sin, you must be baptized so you start anew in Christ.
