WHY WOULD NIGERIANS BRING BACK GOODLUCK JONATHAN AS PRESIDENT IN 2027 ? By: National Watch Correspondent IBRAHIM KABIR UMAR Reporting Live from Abuja, Nigeria. A powerful wave of public sentiment is sweeping across Nigeria as citizens from all walks of life are calling for the return of former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to lead the nation once again in 2027. Under the trending hashtags #BringBackGoodluck2027, #RestoreNigeriaWithGEJ2027, and #GoodluckForPeaceAndProgressWithGEJ2027, Nigerians across social media platforms are demanding a restoration of the nation’s economic stability, democratic integrity, and unity that many say characterized the Jonathan era. According to the emerging Goodluck 2027 Presidential Movement, the call is not just political, it is patriotic. The movement describes Dr. Jonathan as a symbol of peace, a man of vision, and a father of democracy. Supporters argue that during Jonathan’s leadership between 2010 and 2015, Nigeria witnessed relative economic growth, improved education, infrastructural expansion, steady electricity supply, and a stronger image in the international community. > “When Goodluck led, Nigeria had hope. We had jobs, stability, and peace. The difference is clear,” said Mrs. Funke Olatunji, a Lagos-based entrepreneur who joined the campaign online. Political analysts also note that Jonathan’s leadership style was characterized by tolerance, diplomacy, and respect for democratic values, qualities that many say are missing in today’s political climate. Amid economic hardships, rising insecurity, and growing public dissatisfaction, citizens are increasingly nostalgic for the period of national calm and development that marked the former president’s tenure. The Goodluck 2027 Campaign Movement has described its mission as one to restore Nigeria’s lost glory through experience, humility, and wisdom. The group insists that Jonathan’s comeback would not be about ambition but about a rescue mission for a nation in distress. Dr. Jonathan, who has so far remained silent on his political intentions, is now at the center of a massive nationwide conversation. Observers believe that if he chooses to contest, his return could redefine the 2027 presidential race. He is the bridge between the old and the new Nigeria,” says Chief Innocent Okorie, a political commentator from Enugu. “His return could bring back a leadership that listens and governs with fairness. As the movement gains momentum, thousands of Nigerians have begun organizing rallies, online campaigns, and public discussions under the unifying slogan: One Last Term to restore Nigeria’s Hope with GEJ 2027. The public’s message is clear and resounding: “NIGERIA NEEDS GOODLUCK AGAIN 2027” SOCIAL HASHTAGS: #BringBackGoodluck2027 #RestoreNigeriaWithGEJ2027 #GoodluckForPeaceAndProgress2027 #OneNigeriaOneFutureWithGEJ2027 #RestorationBegins2027WithGEJ

Yeah, times were good under GEJ because oil prices were as high as 100-130 dollars per barrel (opec prices, don't bring WTI prices )....and we had oil money flowing in Briefly, African countries have good times when the price of their main resource they sell, be it oil, minerals or agric produce, is high. A good example is the copper boom which made Zambia prosperous from 2007-11. Once the price crashed, life became hard again. Same thing under GEJ, plus we had savings from Yaradua...who for a time had oil at 140 DOLLARS per barrel. We had the same thing from 1973-82 (some say 81)...when oil prices were high, and when a car cost 500 naira at one point, a cow cost N90, bread was 50 kobo, table fan was N16, gulder was 75 kobo, and margarine was 10KOBO, and so on and so forth. And as at 1978, N1 was 1 dollar. And many supermarkets had the latest editions of some comics from overseas. That is what happened under GEJ. Good life fuelled by high oil prices. But just as oil prices crashed in 1982, and we had awful economics from then till around 2006, when they rose again, it was the same thing with GEJ from 2014, by 2015, Okonjo Iwaela was saying that hard times were coming whoever won in 2015...and government was borrowing to pay salaries by 2014..because the high oil prices had ended since April NO, I am not excusing Buhari and tinubu or saying that the reason why your government cannot do its duty and provide even basic anemites is because low oil price. I am saying that our economy is dang too vulnerable because it is severely resource dependent. And that is why bringing back GEJ won't do much. Unless GEJ is prepared to do what tinubu and buhari did not do and take us off resource dependency at the risk of being unpopular...because it is going to take time, and it would make things even harsher....and because jobs will be cut and the elite and poor will suffer together....we will continue to see the cycle of boom and bust, and no susatained economic growth and development We got to stop relying and decieving ourselves with oil money. We got to be productive. |

GEJ himself knows he has nothing new to offer Nigerians. Just listen to the man talking. He still sounds as daft and dumb as ever. He spent 6 years in that seat with nothing to show for it. |

No smart person will vote that guy. His incompetence is what led to the emergence of scallywags like buhari & tinubu. Imagine a suicide bomber was found in the house of a senator & heads didn't roll. If such rubbish happened in obasanjo's time, many people would have paid the ultimate price. |

delugadou:Lol, you wish. No self-respecting Southsoutherner will see a Goodluck Jonathan on the ballot and proceed to vote Tinubu. No self-respecting Northerner that wants to vote a Southerner will see a Goodluck Jonathan on the ballot and proceed to vote Tinubu. There's a reason why he's doing everything to destroy all opposition parties and ensuring the PDP's convention does not take place. Tinubu's only pathway to re-election is to run unopposed. As long as the election holds and he has opposition, he will lose. |
