I just need some advice abeg.

I recently got a teaching job this term — I’m in my early 20s and I teach Physics to SS2 students. I gave them an assignment on Gas Laws last week, and while marking, one of the girls wrote “masturbate” as her answer.

Whichever one it is not a good sign.

How can she be making such an expensive joke with you? You are the one supposed to be giving her academic tests and not the other way around. Whatever is behind such an answer can not be a good thing.


The school doesn't allow physical discipline. So what parameters are they to punish erring students? A school system must be built on the foundation of reward and punishment. I advice you follow whatever parameters for punishment the school supports.

I won't say more than this but I wonder the kind of society we are building and awaits the future generation of these children!

The professional thing to do is to report her to the principal.... #EOD

avoid any indoor meetings with her cause she might frame you then warn your class not to write any thing like that to you again or the person will be publicly call out ,
Report her to the principal if she write it again

If the class/form teacher is a female - and reasonable, perhaps, reporting to this person first is a good start. She may help talk with her; the student needs help; the way this is approached matters a lot. If it can be handled without escalating to the principal, fine.

But if the form teacher is male, just go ahead and talk to the next higher authority...(may not even be the principal, may be a head teacher or something).

As much as possible, the girl should not be exposed to the public. Handle this privately as much as possible. Importantly, anyone handling this case should find out if this girl is sexually exploited at home or elsewhere.

Report to the school principal asap if you don't want to live to regret a frame up that will cause you embarrassment and possibly ya job. The professional way is to hand her over with evidence to the school principal. Make sure you snap and do video recording and duplicate it for record purpose. It's possible the girl just learned the word masturbate so it's shacking her. As a woman, I can testify most young girls go through that face but when they realize it's not moral then they control it.

In all, there's a mad audacity in her that need serious beating and punishment but it's the headache of her latent and school authority. If there is a counselor in that school I suggest that you discuss this with the counselor immediately and let that counselor take it further,don't attempt to discuss it with the student directly at all and try to keep it to yourself and the counselor or principal only because from their policy of not flogging students,it is clear that they value the students way more than any recently employed blue-eyes teacher.
