British boxer Ryan Taylor has opened up about his split from Nigerian DJ and philanthropist DJ Cuppy, alleging that she once expressed a dislike for Nigerians and advised him against employing them.

In a podcast interview released on October 20, 2025, Taylor claimed that during their relationship, Cuppy discouraged him from hiring Nigerian staff, reportedly saying she feared fans might constantly ask for money. “DJ Cuppy doesn’t like Nigerians. She didn’t want me to have Nigerian staff,” he said. “I don’t regret my relationship with her — I’ve just learnt my lessons.”

The pair’s relationship gained public attention after their engagement in 2022, announced during Cuppy’s birthday celebration. However, the union ended quietly in mid-2023, less than a year later.

Taylor, who has since returned to his boxing and media career, said the experience taught him valuable lessons about love and fame. Despite the revelations, he emphasized that he holds no bitterness toward his former fiancée.

As of press time, DJ Cuppy has not publicly responded to Taylor’s remarks. The billionaire heiress and entertainer, known for her hit singles and charitable foundation, continues to focus on her music and philanthropy projects both in Nigeria and abroad.
