Wahab Aisha, a young woman from Auchi, Edo State, is currently being held captive by kidnappers who are demanding a ₦20 million ransom for her release. She was abducted last week at Igbira Camp, shortly after City College School in Auchi.

A new video, released around October 20, 2025, shows the visibly distressed victim as her abductors renewed their threat to kill her if the ransom is not paid. This marks the second video released since her abduction.

Popular human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu shared the video online, calling on the Edo State Government to take urgent action. Other activists and community members have since joined in, amplifying the family’s plea for help across social media platforms and tagging the Edo State Governor along with other key stakeholders to intervene.

Residents have described the incident as another sign of the growing insecurity in Edo State, which has witnessed several kidnapping cases in 2025. There are now widespread public calls for the state government to address the worsening security situation and ensure the safety of its citizens.

It's so sad and pathetic that the Nigeria government is always tough and effective only when they are dealing with protesters and political agitators, because they are always afraid that their looting pots could be broken beyond repair, but they handle the real criminals and terrorists with kidgloves and insentives, because they provide for themselves top-notch security, therefore the persistent deaths and dehumanization of vulnerable Nigerians by these heartless criminals and terrorists is not a serious problem to them, yet their zombie supporters see nothing wrong with these wicked leaders, but the evils that they are supporting today are waiting for them in the future .

One thing I'm trying to understand is why the M.O. of this particular kidnapping is different.

It's really sad though, and very disheartening.
