A viral video has captured Jennifer Adighije, managing director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), presenting N20 million to actress Sarah Martins, reportedly on behalf of Seyi Tinubu, in a video obtained by News360 Nigeria

The situation stems from an incident last week when Martins claimed that officials from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) unit disrupted her charity outreach in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos, confiscating food, a cooking gas cylinder, and other items she was using to feed the less privileged.

The Lagos State government, however, defended the action, stating that Martins had violated environmental and safety regulations by conducting unauthorised street cooking on a public road median.

In response to the support, Martins thanked Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Noella Foundation, directed by his wife, Layla, for the N20 million donation.

Seyi later clarified on social media that the donation came not from him directly but from a group of friends who raised the funds to help Martins secure a proper location for her charitable activities.

He emphasised that he does not support actions that contravene state laws.

The viral clip shows Adighije telling Martins, “Seyi asked me to give this to you."

"He is out of the country… when he comes back he said I should let you know he will see you and expect you to be able to get a shop with this.”

Martins was visibly emotional, expressing gratitude: “God bless you, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, God bless you, sir. This means a lot. And it will go a long way.”

The incident has sparked online discussions over the donation and the proper handling of charitable outreach within regulatory guidelines.

It's becoming obvious Seyi personally fixed several of his friends and cronies into government positions just to gain patronage such as this. State capture in full view. Ministers and heads of agencies becoming subservient to the "first son" in full view. Using our commonwealth to build a reputation as a "giver".
