You have clearly never been on a protest before or even organised one. So it is perhaps understandable that your question is akin to asking why the organisers of #OccupyNigeria were not the ones who were killed.

On a different note, it appears this one was so poorly organised that there was no proper co-ordination between its leaders. When our jack boots began firing tear gas, Sowore clearly scampered in one direction while the others were caught flat-footed.
