Mrfeel: just read the gibberish you wrote slowly again and see if it makes any sense to you? So his so called learned lawyers couldn’t advise him that a governor is protected by immunity of the office and can’t come before a judge to answer questions? So how does it help his case? And the other people listed can come up with whatever excuse not to attend like ill health or they can be indisposed and their by also prolonging his trial but you clowns are too ignorant and shortsighted ![]() |

buckeyemedia:I already gave an example with the former chief of army staff Buratai. What you are saying is exactly what lawyers study in school for years. They are not expecting any of the witnesses to agree with them, but any answer the witnesses give will help Nnamdi Kanu's case one way or the other. |

Mrfeel:Erm...did you see the number of witnesses who refused to give evidence at Donald Trump's trial in New York and also the Senate hearings into the January 6th insurrection? I don't know of any country with a legal system that exists in a vacuum. At all levels, rightly or wrongly, politics also comes into play. |

pembisco:Your witnesses must be ready to help u, if they say the opposite, they are not under trial, Kanu is the one facing trial. That is not the Court’s responsibility to cross examine them, u cannot force someone to support u, like u Nnamdi Kanu’s supporters always want others to. |

buckeyemedia:Read the post again. There are two categories of witnesses. The TY and co are category two witnesses called 'the compellable witnesses' |

Brilliant move by MNK. Firstly if the anyone and everyone except for a minor and mentally challenged is a competent and compellable witness under the Evidence Act. So if the court declines to issue the subpoenas for those listed, the court would be seen as biased and denying him fair hearing which is a serious matter in a criminal trial. Secondly if the court grants his application and issues the subpoenas for the compellable witnesses, they will have no choice but to show up which will be hugely embarrassing and inconvenient for those mentioned. So they will likely decline on grounds of health, national duty or unavailability, which MNK will obviously try to use to make for lack of fair hearing as his witnesses refused to show up. Thirdly if in the unlikely event that they show up, the optics of these heavy weights as MNK's witnesses will be something the State will not be comfortable with as it will be in the funny situation of cross-examining its own former or current agents. Meanwhile MNK will come up with tricky questions that will exonerate him to these witnesses This will play to MNK's advantage as it is pitting the State against itself. The government might be forced to issue a Nolle Prosequi in order to seek for a political solution. Whichever way it cuts, this is a masterstroke from MNK. Let's see how the prosecution neutralises this move by MNK. |

shortgun:Ok now u people are waiting for witness statements to free Kanu abi? No be today we done dey tell una say the man no get defense, that was why he tried his best with all sorts of delay tactics to make sure that the prosecution couldn’t close their case. That is the reason after the prosecution had closed their case, his lawyer joined the free Nnamdi Kanu protest, because he knows they have no defense. A person has a case in court before a judge, your lawyer goes to protest on the streets to free his client? Quite obvious he has seen the writing on the wall. |

buckeyemedia:He's not forcing them to support him, they are compellable witnesses. The compellability of a witness refers to the power to force a competent witness to testify even if it's against their will. If the witness is not willing to participate voluntarily they must be "compellable" before a subpoena can be issued Hope you've learned something new today. Note: we are just having a conversation. My argument is not in support or against anybody. |

DomPerignon:No no no I'm not down to whataboutism or whatever you call it I'm asking valuable questions to counter the valuable questions you asked me, and my questions are based of facts ESN formed by kanu is older Ebube Agu that was formed by the eastern governors , in fact it was the failure of south east governors to create a regional security to tackle the herdsmen killings in the south east that made the people to cry out to nnamdi kanu to do it which he did in December 2020 that was almost a year of the people of south begging the south east governors Ebube Agu came later in 2021 and instead of going after herdsmen they went after ESN and that was where the problem started You have no evidence to heap the killings of civilians in SE on ESN |

Ttalk:Regarding Nnamdi Kalu's matter, lust for cheap cash from crude oyel in the Niger delta region, that's what is turning some people berserk. They go against all international norms, go against the constitution of Nigeria, go against all known methods of court trial for Kalu's matter. Trying someone after court has found the person not guilty as charged. |

banom:Leave those people. Most of them are in pains. This a good move by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, even though the court is there to convict him not for justice, the world will see it was done out of hatred not justice. And actions will be taken. |

It will ridicule the government but I could wrong. |
