sparko1:So the Igbos were right too: The majority of Lagos at this time are Igbos, and in some time, they too can claim that it is Igbo land. Any other name is irrelevant, the land and the people are the same. ![]() !nsults don't make anyone sound smarter. ![]() |

Nwaikpe:Seriously I should have known that I was chatting with people who believe Buhari died and was changed to El Jibrin of Sudan At the bolded suggest you didn't study history as a subject otherwise won't claim the British interact with the Igbo first when they landed in the Niger area The 1st Missionary school, first missionary cemetery, first story building, first this and first that can only be found in my state. History tells us that Igbo were the last sets of people the British visited |

masterfactor:The best and only way to stop this your premium tears about the Igbos is to ask your senators to vote for separation so Igbos can go but ask your father why your people fought to keep the Igbos in their midst |

Lukuluku69:Nonsense. The British moved in the savannah just as well as they did in the hinterland if the east, especially in the coastal areas where they berthed and colonised earlier than most places, e.g Opobo kingdom and Lagos. The British directly and indirectly operated the Yoruba kingdom and Hausa/Fulani kingdoms after they conquered them . They deposed Ọbá kosoko and installed their stooge Akitoye as a way to gain total control of Lagos. The Brits never engaged in slavery in Nigeria, they abolished it, and they used the accusations of slavery to depose the monarchies that didn't kowtow to them. And those Hausas and Nupe you see on that census were mostly slaves owned by Yoruba chiefs, very few of them were free people. |

Ttalk:You don't even know the meaning of Lagos. Lagos was named by the Europeans, Portuguese to be precise and it means "Lakes". Eko on the other hand is a Benin word. Long before the arrival of the British, the Oba of Benin was the one who chose the oba of Lagos. Do you know why it is like that? |

Nwaikpe:My focus is never on "them" as you submitted but rather a response to your claim about "them," which was being an equal to the Colonists are you claimed on their behalf with the colonists. And since you want to let us focus on them why not answer my poser as to where they learn the Caste System from or was that also inherited from their equals from Europe since they were good in the usage of the Rosary and even attended University situated at village squares before anyone else does? I don't need Reno or anyone else to tell me the Culture my forebears lived and no, I don't listen to him because he is an Ethnic jingoist and most of them just don't cut it with me. So, pray tell me those places that are still going about unclothed in the North. I know of the Koma people in the northeast. Perhaps you research discovered another? Lol The Tuaregs conquered the Hausas in the 1800s. Really, really? I thought you guys said it was the Fulanis from Futa Jalon, the homestead of Uthaman Dan Fodio? In any case, the influence of the Mandikans from the Empires of the Mali Kingdom is the prevailing identity (largely) in those spaces. They lived in Cities, had school (outside what the Europeans brought to those you referred to as "them" . I was once privileged to visit Kano Old City (the walled one popularly referred to as Cikin Geri and also Sokoto). You need to see their architecture. So distinct the blind can see it. So, Sir, it was not clothing of the desert people that were imposed on them. Those buildings still stand to date. And no, sir, the British didn't see ALL that accepted Christianity as equals and I will take that as a joke from you and it is very funny. These "them" of ours aren't they largely Catholic and not Anglican? That was a joke too I assume? When the Europeans came to this shore, the Hausa/Fulani were fully kitted, same for the Yorubas and "them"? They tied wrappers while going Topless! |

FreeStuffsNG:How about now? You people are now into the business of mining skulls in this very day. Everyday 2-3 people lose their skulls in your place, so in reality while the south east have remodeled and modernised, the South west seems to be regressing in terms of hospitality. |
