The thing shock me...! But, Canada's own might just be down to their having less overall population than Nigeria.

Though larger in land mass, they have less than a fifth of Nigeria's population.

That said... Is there any negative global list that doesn't have Nigeria listed on it?!! undecided

At this point, I'm beginning to think they just throw in Nigeria for fun or to represent Africa or West Africa.

In asaba alone dat I know....the number of aboki sleeping in front of pples shop at night wit mat and under koka junction flyover, ogbogologo road, junction74 etc, is more than 5,000. Let's not even talk of Lagos bridges, onitsha, various mami cow mkts spread across the length and breath of Nigeria...those sleeping in bushes as herders, IDPs spread across nigeria, almajiris...plenty hausa quarters in every state wit few houses where most of them sleep outside on mat?

Abeg that list was rigged by EYENECK!

Though I don't like the state of Nigeria, and I dislike our leadership styles, the number given to Nigeria is way too high. There are not up to 200, 000 homeless people in Nigeria, including the roaming mad men and women.

By the way, I don't like the way Nigeria handles its demographic data. There's so much exaggerated information out there. And many other underreported. Some people just cook up data to get funding and then corner the monies without addressing any gaps.

Cos it's almost impossible to be homeless in Nigeria, you'll sha see where you'll squat and if nobody in the city accommodates you, there's definitely a space for you in your village to lay your head unless you're an orphan.

USA has more homeless people than Nigeria.

it is very very possible to have this number of homeless in Nigeria unless no be for Nigeria you dey live. Do you know how many homeless people roaming the streets of Lagos? So many of these northerners pushing trucks and picking up condemned irons are homeless, they sleep on the streets with just a mosquito net as cover. Go to under bridges and you will find so many homeless people squatting there, in fact it's hard to find a bridge in this country without a homeless person taking shelter underneath it. Some even sleep in closed shops others under parked vehicles. Homeless people full Nigeria o my brother.

I've been the south south and I've seen northerners who live in terrible housing conditions, but they have rooms where they sleep. Homeless are those who sleep under bridges, on the roads or even sleep whenever the sleep meets them.

The source data is clearly highlighted. Do your research.
Other studies put Nigeria's homeless population at 13%, so this report is most likely an underestimation after all.

Far from it, if that is the case ,do you think countries with better infrastructure and lesser population to Nigeria would even make the list ?

As far as you can't afford for yourself a decent house, you are living with a friend or relative out of necessity not by choice you are considered homeless, if you live in an uncompleted building you are homeless, if you live in a shelter you are homeless, if you live in a place were your staying there in future is not guaranteed you are homeless as far as you live in an unstable place you are homeless.

I have been to at least two of the listed nations there ,one in south America, all my two years there I never saw anybody living outside as a homeless person but they are here on the list too.

You mean 4.5m people homeless in Nigeria? Pls can you tell me the locations of these 4.5m people because in entire Abj I don't think people on the street without a home is up to 200 or 300 and I have lived in Lagos and walked through almost lenght and Bredth of Lagos I don't think people without home living under the bridges and other places will be up to 8k, same in Kaduna, same in Ondo state, same in Edo, same in Ogun, same in Enugu, Warri and Imo so where do these 4.5m emerged from and their location we want to go out their and do thorough statistics with no political undertone.

USA should be number 2 or 3 in the list.
