forgiveness:Lolz So u dont even know🤣 U just read somewhere that he came from isheri and u carried the lie. Anyways Ashipa is the second son of Oba Orhogbua - the seventeen Oba of Benin and the 49th king of igodomigodo kingdom. His mother name was Umelu. His elder brother and Orhogbua successor Oba Ehengbuda was the one that engaged the oyo empire that resulted in the treaty that birthed the Benin-Oyo frontier, a military group to help fight externals. The treaty was signed in Otun - present day Ekiti. Oba Ehengbuda then had power over most Yoruba states e.g Owo and others and their kings then were required to pay tribute to the Oba. So guy, if u are really want to know who Ashipa was, waka enter Alaafin palace or Olowo of Owo and ask them what is the relationship between Ashipa and Oba Ehengbuda They will tell u straight they are brothers except they are twisting history too. Thank you |

Afrojuju2017:Yorubas are too interrelated for these people to understand. I laugh whenever they say what's the business of an Ibadan man with Lagos. It's like saying what's the business of an Oyo man with Osun matters. |

Gerhards:It is Obvious you don't even know who the Ewe are🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They Originated from Oyo and adopted the Fon Language of their Neighbours !!!!!! They are also in Benin Republic, Togo and Ghana!!!!! They are of Oyo Ancesstry!!! Please stay away from our History You don't know anything about it!!! It was because of Egun and Ewe that Oyo in alliance with others fought and defeated the Ashanti of Ghana in the Atakpame battle of 1763. It was too protect the Egun and Ewe that the Oyo Kingdom reached Ghana. Alaafin was their Military Protector and they are Alaafins Children 🤣🤣🤣

Tommydare:The UAE literally calls it "Rub Al Khali" meaning "empty quarters" or "no man's land." But that's not the point. The point is that, in those times, when there were no countries, no man owned any land. You only own the land you can control or govern. No one owned Lagos because no one was there; no one governed it. When the Portuguese came, they controlled it, owned it, and therefore governed it. It was theirs. When the Brits came, they controlled it, owned it, and therefore, it was theirs. No one lived in Lagos before the Portuguese. No one. The development, trade, and commerce that the Portuguese brought along is what made people from different places converge in that area. That is why you can see the population that diverse. The same way no one owned the region of Judea and Samaria (Israel, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan), which the British officially referred to as "Palestine" when they conquered it, is the same way they partitioned it into Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel. Just in the same way, the influx of North Africans and Arabs to the same partition called Israel because of the development and growth that the Jews brought along, and the North Africans now claim it to be their ancestral homeland and that they are "Philistines." It was no man's land. No one governed it. So anyone that can govern it or control it owns it. |

Ttalk:You overate yourselves because of the strategic advantage of Lagos. ![]() Some how, you think that Lagos defines all of Yoruba. Come on! ![]() Before the creation of Lagos, that is before the discovery of Lagos by the Portugese, Olu Atuwatse a fellow Benin man, was already well schooled in the University of Coimbra. That is one of my direct blood ancestors. Direct blood from the same street in Benin. You know very little about the Presbyterian Church of Scotland Mission in 1846 in Calabar and the Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) in the 1860s in the area now called Igbo. You somehow think that because the center of commerce was Lagos, therefore Nigeria, colonial and precolonial, surrounded it. Read your history: colonial-era administration based more in Calabar (Abuja of those days) than in Lagos. Lagos was just a point of commerce. That was its luck till today. The greatest social interaction between the colonials and the people happened with the Igbo people through the Church. That is why: Because of the presence of more whites in Lagos by reason of commerce, they built more schools there, and therefore the locals were more educated in number than in other regions. But because of the interactions socially with the Igbos, they were naturally smarter and more integrated with the Western European world than other regions. |
