The dispute revolves around an alleged scam involving a full container of goods and features a complex exchange of positions between VeryDarkMan and Ross Boss.

Initial Partnership: VeryDarkMan had previously promoted Ross Boss as a trusted business associate for Nigerians seeking to import goods from China. In March 2025, he highlighted how Ross Boss had helped him recover money from a separate scam and praised the businessman for opening up opportunities to Nigerians.

VeryDarkMan’s Reversal: In October 2025, VeryDarkMan publicly withdrew his endorsement of Ross Boss. He released videos retracting his earlier statements and cautioning Nigerians to exercise care when dealing with Ross Boss.

The Scam Allegation: This reversal was triggered by a complaint from a Nigerian woman who claimed that Ross Boss had scammed her out of a full container of goods. In his video, VeryDarkMan explained that he no longer trusts Ross Boss after observing what he described as "shady" business practices during a trip to China.

Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan (VDM) and BLord have been engaging in an online exchange after VDM accused BLord—a popular cryptocurrency entrepreneur—of selling repackaged iPhone XRs as iPhone 17s and selling cars at exorbitant prices to Nigerians. VDM vowed to reveal secrets behind sourcing these items cheaper in China and promised to show Nigerians how to get products shipped from China at lower costs.

Ross Boss’s Response: Ross Boss, described as VDM’s “China plug,” has publicly responded to VeryDarkMan’s accusations. He challenged the woman to report the case to the police in China, stating clearly that if the allegations were true, he would face severe legal consequences, including being jailed in China. He also pointed to his substantial inventory to question the likelihood of risking his entire business over a single transaction.

In addition, Ross Boss made several counterclaims against VeryDarkMan:

He called VeryDarkMan "childish and immature" and accused him of using his influence to fabricate false evidence.

He alleged that VeryDarkMan was attempting to use a “nameless girl” to defame him.

He stated that he had spent $15,000 (about N23 million) on VeryDarkMan during his visit to China and presented receipts as proof.

Regarding VeryDarkMan’s claim of seeing 15 Facebook accounts on his phone, Ross Boss clarified that the accounts belonged to his sales staff.

He also claimed that VeryDarkMan’s so-called “direct Chinese contact” named “Wanyi Accessories” was actually VeryDarkMan’s sister, Vivian Otse, pretending to be Chinese.

In the video, Ross Boss alleged that it is actually VDM who has an EFCC case and questioned why VDM is now labeling him a scammer.

Ross Boss explained that he has been in business for over 10 years—long before VeryDarkMan came to China this year—and that he has never taken a kobo from VDM. He dared VDM to focus on what they actually do together instead of trying to paint him as a scammer.

He also challenged VeryDarkMan to provide any evidence of a scam, stating that he is waiting for proof.


The conflict has escalated into a public dispute, with both parties trading accusations online. The situation has highlighted broader issues in cross-border trade between Nigeria and China, including the risks of online scams and the challenges of seeking legal recourse in international business transactions. VeryDarkMan has maintained his position, while Ross Boss continues to defend his reputation and business practices.
