A shocking video circulating online via Arise TV shows a Christian man in Abuja weeping over the loss of his building, claiming it was sealed and sold off by the Sharia Appeal Court Gudu in Abuja despite him having a title deed, not a Muslim and shouldn't have anything to do with a Sharia Court.

Arise TV anchors condemned the act, blaming Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket for emboldening muslim Sharia Court overreach in the nation’s capital. They argued that a Muslim Sharia Court has no place in the Federal capital territory, Abuja since Nigeria is a secular state.

The sharia law enshrined in the 12 northern states was an expansion of sharia courts into criminal cases,as defined by Islamic law ( hence the two women who were sentenced to be stoned to death because adultery is a crime under sharia).

This one na civil case or civil sharia which has been on the books for a long time, before 1999. Used to form part of the northern regional penal code since colonial times. Abuja falls under the old northern region

I suspect the man's tenant is a Muslim.The palava is the court not checking who owned the shop. Big mistake

There won't be change in the laws.Both sides find this as a useful bugbear

Sharia courts in the north occupy the same space as customary courts in the south

Just observing. Not defending what happened to the man. Which shows typical Nigerian inefficiency even in religious courts

A Christian, or any non-Muslim cannot be compelled to appear before a Sharia Court or have his property or rights adjudicated under Islamic law. Our constitution is very clear on this, it's only for Muslims who have consented to the jurisdiction of the Sharia Court.
Abuja ideally shouldn't have a Sharia Court from the moment it became the capital of Nigeria.

A Christian, or any non-Muslim cannot be compelled to appear before a Sharia Court or have his property or rights adjudicated under Islamic law. Our constitution is very clear on this, it's only for Muslims who have consented to the jurisdiction of the Sharia Court.
Abuja ideally shouldn't have a Sharia Court from the moment it became the capital of Nigeria.

Like I said this is inefficiency, not religious bigotry and discrimination

To those of you who don't know anything about the danger of Islam...and when it gets a sharia court, you as a non Muslim will ve under its jurisprudence despite telling you is only for Muslims.

To those that become Muslims and it was wonderful ask them what if tomorrow you noticed somethings or you decided to leave Islam, ask them what is the consequences according to Quran Allah Muhammad and hadith.... death .

But as for me I will continue warning people to stay away from Islam...

Before you argue I hope you know the medina command supersedes mecca commands.
