Dtruthspeaker:Yes, watch the video. He appeared before the Sharia court and even tendered documents of his property to the court. |

always247:Exactly, the judgment is fair, but many use it as an excuse to criticize Islam. They'd blame any court, even a customary one. Most Nigerians would rather die than repay loans. When asking for a loan, they cry, yet when it's time to pay back, they will make you cry and beg them to return your money. I can never lend money to any Nigerian; if they ask, I might give a little as a gift, but not a loan. As for those condemning the judgment and blaming our colonial masters for Nigeria's amalgamation, they believe division will solve their problems. But even united, Nigeria struggles with leadership and corruption issues. What makes them think splitting Nigeria into pieces would magically fix these problems? Peace? |

nairalanda1:No justification, it's pure religious bigotry. Those that have case against the man are moslems. They knew the man isn't sharing religious tenets with them so why take him there? In their summation of having sharia courts, they said it's not for non moslems so why are they going against their words? It's like a deliberate attempt to dispose the man of his items tactically. You see all these are bringing accumulation of hate. What's bad is bad. Other religions may start looking at having their courts since everyone want to be mad. |

Goodlady:Saying it is inefficiency is not justification. It shows the court has been incompetent Also, if you want sharia off the constitution, see your senator and do the needful. Make him or her argue for secession even. |

What is stopping him from appealing against the judgement? The fact that sharia Court has no jurisdiction in Abuja and that the victim does not subscribe to sharia tenets is enough grounds to have the judgement discarded to the waste bin where it actually belong. |

nairalanda1:Anything found illegal will be off constitution if possible. What is good is fairness. Maybe the man should have been tried in a customary court cos religious court like sharia should be for islanic matter for islamics alone. |

We already know the reason for the cry. To paint sharia and Islam bad. If we dig down now, we will uncover a lot more than just the cry. Using igbó, Christian sentiment and to steer media cry. Mumu presenter also fall in. In slight chance, they will shout Muslim Muslim ticket as if the ticket has any way benefited Nigerian Muslims. In fact Muslims suffered more under this ticket. |

shortgun:Mr man try to be fair in yourself. All courts are established with the same intent of advocating fairness, justice, equity and of course punishing the offender adequately and appropriately. Shari'a court is for the Muslims and other non Muslims who at any time subscribes to its jurisdiction willingly. No shari'a judges will enforce or entertain any matter that the parties that brought the case are not the one that willingly subjects themselves to its jurisdiction. You see the difference is that in shari'a courts you cannot bribe your way. Finally, if you say shari'a should be abolished in Abuja, are you going to change the religion of the Muslims residing in Abuja? Are you not by implications saying all Muslims should be under the other courts you agree are better which of course you know are based on other faith other than Islam? Try not to be islamaphobic please. |

Lol. Who is a muslim in the eyes of the constitution that permitted sharia dispute resolution centres in the first place? It makes no sense. Even a muslim has the right to choose the secular court of law over a sharia dispute centre. What is the use of regulating law, law schools and law practice if another vague and varying system will be superior to the system constitutionally certified lawyers can practice in? How can a dispute resolution system supercede the law that had to be changed to allow it in the first place? This is mob actions at best. Some kidnappers that hav kidnapped their unseen god have proceed to mobilise mobs of brainwashed mobsters and start interpreting a book they have no monopoly of in a supreme way. |

These ARISE TV journalists are just sensational quacks. They are only relying on the viral video by the purported shop owner to arrive at a conclusion. Before this case would have reached the Sharia Appeal Court that has always been cited at Abuja, that means the matter would have been dragging and settled in a lower Sharia court that is sited in one of the northern states that practice sharia law. Just like there are zonal Appeal courts sited in every zone, the Sharia court of Appeal is located in Abuja . Are the Sharia operating states not part of Nigeria and is Abuja not also their capital city? The shop landlord was also asked to present his claims of owning the shop by same Sharia court of Appeal. Did he present enough convincing evidence that he is the owner and not the Tennant? As per the tenant he or she is obviously a Muslim and that's why he or she was dragged to a lower sharia court by the creditor. Did the Tennant use the property as collateral in being granted a loan by the creditor without the landlord knowledge? Did the landlord provide compelling evidence in sharia court that the property is indeed his or did the court see an elaborate deception by the debtor to transfer ownership of the property to avoid it being auctioned off to pay his debts? Arise TV panelists are just being sentimental and sensational and did not do due diligence . What if in future it is established that the ibo man does not own the property but was used by the so-called tenant to avoid the shop being auctioned off to settle his debts. This shop is in Abuja where title deeds are well documented with AGIS and I am sure the creditor and the court would have done due diligence to ascertain the real owner of that shop. |

This is the deceit behind this sharia court being propagated by the south west Muslims, why will a Muslim sue a Christian to sharia court and the court went ahead to adjudicate on it knowing fully well the defendant is not a Muslim. This sharia is dead on arrival in south west,we don't want it in the south west no matter under any guise. |

shortgun:Why? Are the sharia operating states not part of Nigeria and Abuja also their capital city? FYI, there is only one Sharia Appeal Court that is also subject to the Supreme Court which also is cited in Abuja. The Sharia Appeal Court is where cases settled in Sharia lower courts are further arbitrated on. The Sharia Appeal Court has no jurisprudence in any matter arising in Abuja or any state which do not practice Sharia law. Being cited in Abuja , just as the Supreme Court, is a central location where appeals from lower Sharia courts in States practising Sharia law are settled. Ignorance. |

immortalcrown:You dey mind dem. Not a secular state but start and end functions with opening and closing prayers. They built national mosques and national church. They give national Christian and Muslim holidays. States give traditionalist holidays. They have national Haj and Christian Commissions on which they spend billions yearly on trips to holy lands. They spend state budgets on building mosques and renovating burial grounds. |

olayinka63:In a few days time those quacks in Arise TV would be forced to eat their words and make an apology. Imagine just depending on a viral video of the purported landlord crying croc tears. What I am sure of is that he debtor in an attempt to avoid his shop being auctioned off got this Ibo guy to stand in as the landlord. Why could the purported landlord not provide compelling evidence to the Sharia Appeal Court that he is indeed the real owner and not the debtor? Arise TV in the most unprofessional manner did not even attempt to get hold of the final ruling by the sharia court and just went on air to start another round of quack journalism . Even their level of ignorance to conclude the citing of the Sharia Appeal court in Abuja translates to Abuja secretly practicing sharia. Has anyone been tried or dragged straight to conventional Appeal court? Is it not from a lower court one will proceed to the court of Appeal? Are there any lower sharia courts in Abuja to begin with? And why should Abuja - the Federal Capital of all Nigerians , by barred from citing Sharia court of Appeal? They should also then demand that the FCT funded Central Mosque be demolished then . Most talking heads today in the media are dangerously ignorant and full of their own shit but this Arise TV just convinced me with these set of empty jar head and emotional driven quacks that they are by far the worst . |
| Re: Sharia Court Auctions A Man's Property To Settle Debt In Abuja (Video) by DomPerignon: 12:46pm On Oct 24, 2025 |
shortgun:In a few days time it will be exposed that the purported landlord is not in any way the real owner but was recruited by the debtor to claim the property so as to avoid it going into liquidation to settle the debt owed. What will you say then? |
